Chapter Twelve
Fight
Alice

"How much longer Alice?" Carlisle asked, watching the tree line like a hawk the next afternoon as we stood in the clearing.

"A few minuets." I responded, watching the way the tree limbs swayed in the harsh cold wind. I was suddenly very glad I took Edwards thick leather jacket from him.

"It's going to be four on three, I don't like those odds." Jasper muttered.

"Everything will be fine." I spoke soundly and Jasper nodded his head.

"I believe you." He replied.

"You don't have to kill, just detain them until a certain point." I touched Carlisle's shoulder, trying to relieve some of his worries.

He visibly relaxed as he took my hands in his. "Are you absolutely sure?" He asked. "I can not bare it if sparing their lives will end yours in the future." His sad and tormented eyes dug into me.

"Yes, I'm sure, as soon as my plan is complete you can let them go and they will never bother us again." I smiled up at him.

"How will we know?" He asked quickly.

"You'll know." I promised and he kissed my cheek quickly.

"Thank you, sweet Alice." Carlisle smiled down at me and I returned it happily.

"Thirty seconds." I updated them as a time frame flashed through my sight.

Everyone got so serious suddenly, the mood turned very tense, just like my vision.

A strong gust of ice cold air blew through the field as the small army-like trio of nomads emerged.

There, not even fifty feet away from me, stood Victoria, Laurent, and Ryan.

I could see Edward look worriedly at me from my peripheral vision and tried my best to ignore it, I had told him James would be here, just not exactly where. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the next terrifying part of my plan.

"Well well, this is going to be easier then I thought." Ryan laughed darkly, excitement twinkling in his eyes as he sized up my three vampires and my tiny self.

"You won't hurt her, not on our land, not while we are prepared to fight." Carlisle spoke passionately.

"But you see, this appears to be an even fight." Victoria laughed viciously. "It's just too easy." She smiled, exposing her razor sharp fangs, right before she raced towards me.

Edward stepped in front of me, easily intercepting her as he knew her exact plan from her thoughts. He flipped her over his shoulder, grabbed her by her arms, and sent her flying through the air back towards her group.

She landed with ease, like a cat would if you dropped it, and something about the hard glint of anger in her eyes directed at Edward sent a violent bout of hatred through me.

"This is going to be fun." Ryan laughed loudly as he and Victoria charged towards the Cullens.

I quickly backed away from the Cullen guys, Victoria came right for Edward, and Ryan seemed to be enjoying his fight with both Carlisle and Jasper.
