The next day I found myself walking downtown with wait for it... my sister.
Yes she agreed to shop with me on the main streets of Monroe but really it was only to get away from Vance who had stayed the night.
"So I heard you have a new best friend." Liz commented as we walked "That new hearthrob Leo Armstrong." I rolled my eyes as she added "I gotta get me some of that."
"And i heard you have a boyfriend." I say as a comeback.
Liz this time rolled her eyes waving her hand as a dismissal "Please, I dumped his sorry butt last night."
"Why?"
"He started talking about commitment." Liz said as she examined her vibrant pink manicure "I don't do commitment."
I nod my head not wanting to push the topic further. I knew that our dad's leaving really affected Liz more then she was letting on over the years and I knew that was why she never had a steady boyfriend. Because dad leaving showed her that love isn't real. After all he said he loved us, he loved our mom and he left. He left us, it was something no one could forgive and Liz stopped fantasizing about marriage and finding her true love.
She thought it was a waste of time after all 60% of marriages end in divorce right? but I was different, I knew that not everyone was like my dad. Not everyone would leave us like that some people were just douches.
We turn into a clothing store and examine dress after dress until I hear. "Mom this is stupid why do I have to be here?"
I freeze, no it's not... It can't be...
I turn my head slowly and gasp. Of course. Drew's here.
Liz who was examining a black mid thigh dess headed away to the dressing room and I immediatly walked to the shoes in hope of being overlooked by Drew.
"Chloe?"
So much for that.
I turned around to see him staring at me with wide eyes "Hey Drew." I manage right before a woman comes up beside him. She had dark and wavy black hair that fell past her shoulders and kind gray eyes that matched Drew's.
"Hello you know Drew?" She asked smiling at me.
I nodded awkwardly "I know him from school, my names Chloe Blake."
"Oh!" She gasped as recognition crossed her face "Your the girl Drew's always talking about!"
I feel my face burn red as I shoot a glare at Drew. He talks about me? "Yeah he got me landed in detention." I said before holding out my hand to shake hers "You must be his mom."
"Yes I am, but you can call me Anna honey. If you want Drew you can talk with Chloe instead of shopping." With that she walked away without listening for an answer.
Drew smirked at me and I glared at him once again "What do you say about me to your mom?" I demand and to my surprise I saw his cheeks have a faint red glow to them.
"Nothing, she mistook you for someone else."
I rolled my eyes "Uh huh."
"So did you come here by yourself?" he asked me but I shook my head and nodded to the change rooms.
"Liz my sisters here."
A silence passes over and I glance down at my converse sneakers before I couldn't help but ask "About yesterday at my locker..." I looked up to see Drew looking anywhere but me "Why did it matter if I was dating Leo or not?"
