For a few moments, everyone was deadly silent.
"That is according to the rules of this dimension.  We did not shape or make this dimension, so it is out of our control."
"You were the perfect subjects. All at least eleven, and young enough t-to be a trainer. And, of course, you were the Pokemon Topic."
There was murmurs throughout the hall. Then, sobbing, shouting and screaming.
"T-thank you, that will be all," Perkin finished over the shouts, walking behind the stage into a black room.
People were fighting, crying, some looking around confused. The couple that got their heads together headed out through an open door space where they got escorted off by giant muscled men.
I just laid down on the floor, not truly believing what had just happened.
"Hey, you OK?" a very British voice asked.
I looked around to see Chloe, or Ho-oh standing next to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. But surely there is something else happening here. We can't just be inside the game, you know? Another dimension? That's physically impossible. How did they even do it? It doesn't make sense. No, no no no. This isn't happening. This-"
"This is happening. And you need to realise that. We're in the game now, and," Chloe's voice was already starting to crack with shock. "We've got to try and get through it, alright?" Chloe said as she wiped her eyes.
I sniffed. "Yeah, yeah, I get you. Come on, let's go. I guess we have to start the 'adventure.'"
Conor and Chloe walked over towards the door. They stepped outside, but no one was there.
"Huh. That's weird. I could have sworn-"
Chloe stopped suddenly, and before I knew why, a bag was stuffed over my head.

"Welcome, to your greatest adventure of all!" a majestic voice called out.
"Where- where am I?" I blinked.
I had woken up, and was sitting in a wooden chair, beside hundreds of other people in a blank white room. A man seemed to be giving a lecture at the front of the room.
Wait, that's no ordinary man... That's Professor Birch!
"Hello young children! Today, I welcome you to the grandest Pokemon game ever created... Pokemon, Trapped Version!
Today, you will receive your very first Pokemon and set out on the grandest of adventures! Now, as I call your name, come up and pick a starter Pokemon."
As if on command, a row of tables lined up to the side of Birch, all with Pokeballs on them.
"Monolith!" Professor Birch called out.
Hey, woah. That's Mono. So I assume pretty much everyone on the topic was captured here...
Her decision was quick. She chose...
"Chimchar! A fine choice!" Birch beamed.
A collective murmur went around the room.
"Hey, I thought you were able to only pick Hoenn starters?" A guy shouted out.
"No, not at all. You may pick any of the starters leading up until the 6th generation," Birch said.
"Next up, Rashaun!"
Rashaun stood up nervously. He walked over towards a table, winced, and reached his hand out to grab a Pokeball.
"Another Chimchar! Good choice sir!" Birch called out
Two Chimchars in a row?
Time passed, until it was Chloe's turn to go up.
She got up, glanced around nervously and headed for the second table to the front.
A second gen starter? Haven't seen many of them...
She picked up the Pokeball on the right and held it up high in the air.
"Cymdaquil! A great choice, I must say."
What is it with Fire-types?
Finally, there came me.
"Conor!"
Everyone shifter their gaze towards me. I was the centre of attention, and I didn't like it one bit.
I tensed, but walked over, thinking that if I didn't choose right, I might end up dead.
I had one thing in mind. With all the Fire-types being picked, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not.
But I knew how to use this Pokemon correctly. It was my first ever IV bred and EV trained Pokemon. I played through with it on my first game.
"Treeko!" An amazing choice!" Birch complimented.
After that, I joined a room with everyone else, in order to be given one last lecture.
"You are now entering the wonderful world of Pokemon. Many adventures await here!"
"But, some of you might not make it. You will need to train carefully, plan and strategise, until you beat the game and find a way out. For the sake of PV's research-"
Did he say research?
"And your lives, I hope you do well. Good luck."
With that, we entered the world of Pokemon.
