Chapter 12: Odd

The second last chapter (chapter ten) was heavily altered. Unlike before, Mindo was not disqualified, and he will be in the extra fight with Eriina, the winner would have to have fought Shikamaru. Let's not forget that a certain sound ninja dies, which will result in more rearrangements. This took my ages to figure out but I've go it now! Also, I'm sorry I took so long!

"Daddy?" The darkest of fears filled Kaira. Tense, her insides flipped and dropped, her ears burnt and her eyes dried from lack of blinking. Taking a deep breath, she turned.

Expecting to see the tall man, with red eyes like hers but black hair, she came to see that there was only a very pretty girl standing there, laughing.

She was...odd. So very odd.

Kaira couldn't quite comprehend what it was about her that made her seem so unusual, but the girl smiled at her kindly anyway.

"Hello, you must be Kaira, yes?" She said sweetly. Kaira detected an extreme madness to her tone, and it made her feel uneasy and nervous.

Here she was, in the forest, searching for Naruto frantically, when this girl appeared out of nowhere.

"My name is Kurasei," Kurasei began to walk away, out of the clearing in the thick forest. She stopped at it's edge, and turned back to Kaira slightly.

"Well? Hurry up! Naruto could be far away by now!"

Kaira almost screamed, how did she know?!

 "You were calling his name man, of course I know!" She walked further in, and Kaira's body betrayed her and started following behind the odd girl, Kaira.

 "Wh-"

"Who am I?" She interrupted Kaira, who nodded shyly.

"I told ya' already didn't?" Something in her tone made Kaira feel as of she was joking. It angered her to feel toyed with, but Kurasei complied.

"My name is Kurasei Shizuka, although I am well known in the cloud I guess it's not the same here," she smirked back at Kaira, and Kaira thought of it as evil.

 "Naruto told me about you, a lot about you. I remember when you were just a little girl, that kid still bullying you?"

 Kaira was overwhelmed by her knowledge. "I don't understand! Who are you? How do you know all this-"

"You understand but you refuse to know," the blue head winked at the poor confused girl, still walking. "You ask who I am, but you know. And you ask how I know, because I do."

Kaira was ready to slap her and tell her to stop talking nonsense. "Kaaaaiiraaa!" Rogue's voice rang through the trees. Kaira turned around in the direction it came from. When she turned back around; Kurasei Shizuka was gone.

"Is he always like that?" Eriina asked Shikamaru quietly as they walked away from Choji. He looked at her and nodded, "I wish he'd just get some independence for once is all," the lazy boy sighed.

The two seemed to have come to some silent agreement not speak of the final rounds, which, if Eriina can beat Mindo, will result in her fighting Shikamaru himself.

Eriina smiled, before slowly realizing this was her chance to ask a questioned that had been tugging her mind for a long time. "Shikamaru..." She began carefully.

 The taller boy looked to her, "What was it like...with Kiba I mean. What was it like when he bullied Kaira?"

Shikamaru realized this was a sensitive question, and he took a deep breath, putting his hands behind his head. "Kiba was a nice guy..." he said, and then paused.

For a moment, Eriina thought that was all he had to say about it. Ready to punch him, she waited a while longer, and he finally spoke. "But it's like whenever he saw Kaira, he felt...raw about something."

"Raw?"

"Yeah like...like Kaira had done something bad. I heard from Ino that it was Kaira's fault Kiba's Dad walked out, but I don't think that's the case..."

"How would that even be considered 'the case'? What could she have possibly do-"

"Well exactly, I really don't understand, but I heard that Kaira's Dad attacked Kiba, and then Kiba almost died. Embarrassed his son was such a failure he left, and was never heard from again."

For a moment, Eriina stared at him, before frowning. "Bull!" She exclaimed. "That is so stupid! Why in the hell would someone blame the daughter of a guy who- just, what the- ugh!"

Angrily Eriina stomped into the empty playground and sat on the left swing. Shikamaru joined her on the right, and swung back and forth slowly.

"We never understood what it was. That was just a stupid rumour. There were worse ones, like Kaira had killed his dad, or Kaira was his secret sister that will be the heir to the clan instead of him, and the worst was that Kiba had killed his father after finding out that he and Kaira were in a secret relationship, and that Kiba was jealous-"

"Please stop," Shikamaru looked to the girl who seemed quite depleated from all the sudden information. "Not everyone is as smart as you."

Shikamaru smiled, "So you're admitting it then?" He wondered. Eriina laughed, before pushing back on the swing. "Doesn't mean I'm right, who knows? You might fine someone who's stringer than you one day!"

It went without reply, but the silence was comfortable, swinging back and forth in the cold playground.

"Hey Shikamaru!" The voice of the devil met Eriina's ears, and she frowned demonically, and was overtaken with such rage that Shikamaru sensed it and looked at her worriedly.

"I might kill him, that okay?" She whispered angrily to her lazy companion. His eyes widened and he took her hand, leading her through the other entrance of the playground.

"Hey!" The dog nin called, and Shikamaru tried to walk faster, leading the red head away from tearing the boy apart, towards safety.

Clearly Kiba can't take a hint, because he followed quickly behind them in an attempt to catch up.

'What a drag...' Shikamaru thought, suddenly grasping Eriina's wrist and pulling her sharply around the corner.

 "Teach me later!" Eriina whispered, before running away and leaving Shikamaru by himself to talk to Kiba.

"Wow, for a moment there I thought you were running away from me!" He laughed, scratching the back of his head. "What did you want Kiba?" Asked Shikamaru, sounding involuntarily impatient.

The Inuzuka tried not to notice, but his discomfort was clear. What he said, in Shikamaru's eyes was very...odd. "Er, I was just wonder if you've seen...Kaira...I need to talk to her."

I know, I am so sorry for taking years to uload T-T So! I'm entering this in the NWA's! Im so exciiiiited! :) It'll be close to climax by the time voting starts so...yah. KIBA WANTS TO TALK TO KAIRA!
