Isabella's POV
"Austin! Austin! Come here!" I shouted to my best friend of 12 years, Austin Carlile.
"Yes Bella?" He frantically asked.
"How do I look?" I announced as I turned around in my lengthy wedding dress, my long wavy light pink hair was up in a braided bun and my colorful dream catcher tattoo on my left inner arm was visible. Austin's mouth dropped open as he gazed at me in awe.
"Bell, you look beautiful as always." He said leaning in to kiss my forehead.
Austin was all dressed up in his tuxedo already, and he looked very handsome. Austin was walking me down the isle today, my father passed 5 years ago so I asked Austin if he would like to. I was about to marry Ryan Spencer.
Ryan and I have been in love for 3 years and today was the day we were getting married.
"Are you ready?" Austin asked while offered his arm to interlock with. I quickly nodded my head and linked my arm in his.
We began to walk, but no music was playing which was worrying me.
"Don't worry." Austin calmed me. As we turned the corner to see the room where I was to be wed, I saw no groom. Ryan was not there, no one stood up as I walked in. All eyes were locked on me, they were filled with sympathy and confusion of where Ryan may be. I felt Austin tense up beside me, he has never really liked Ryan, and Ryan bailing on me made Austin hate him more, I could tell.
Tears were cascading down my face as I ran back to my dressing room. I collapsed onto the floor of the room and began to sob my eyes out. My heart ached and my head was pounding.
"Shhh, its okay, Im here. Everything is going to work out in the end." Austin soothed as he sat on the ground, pulled me into his chest and began to stroke my hair.
"Why? What did I do wrong?" I cried out.
"You did nothing, that asshole didn't show up because he's a coward." Austin replied, anger evident in his voice.
"Princess, you're strong, I know you are." Austin addressed me by one of the many nicknames he gave me. Princess because my name is Isabella, which shortens to Bell, which is Austin's favorite princess. "Life will never put you through more than you can handle."
I don't really remember exactly how the rest of the day went. I just remember getting undressed and putting on regular clothes, I remember people cleaning up what was suppose to be my wedding, and I remember only wanting to see Austin. I didn't want to see my mom, sister, brother or cousins, I just wanted to be with my best friend.
Austin dragged me to his house and gave me some of his clothes to change into, considering I was wearing jeans and a tank top. I remember the blur of how I stayed in Austin's bed and sobbed till I couldn't breathe.
Austin was there the whole time, he wouldn't leave my side, even to go to the bathroom. He was so protective and worried over me, he needed to make sure I was okay. It was about midnight before I began to talk normally, all the tears have dried up and I didn't know what to feel.
"So how was your day?" I asked Austin. He spun his head quickly to look at me with a puzzled look, but when he saw I looked alright his concerned slowly disappeared.
"I got to spend a day with my favorite person in this world." He replied. A enormous smile spread across my face, he took a terrible day and turned it into something positive.
"You're mine too, I love you Aus." I slowly responded while turning my head to see him.
"I love you too Bell." We must have been staring at each other for several minutes before Austin suggested we bake.
"What?" I questioned him.
"Do you want go bake? Like food, or do you want to cook something? Let me guess, you wanna go to the diner." He assumed.
"The diner! We havent been there in months!" I excitedly jumped. The diner was this diner actually called 'Joe's Diner', Austin and I used to go constantly late at night after parties. Soon enough we became very close with the people who owned and worked there, they were like out diner family. For some reason we just called it the diner instead of Joes.
Austin and I leaped off of his bed and ran towards the car. The ride to the diner seemed like it took forever because we were both so anxious. Finally Austin parked the car and got out.
"Are you ready?" Austin laughed. I took his hand and started walking towards the door, I pushed it open and the smell of pancakes, coffee, and drunk kids swarmed the air.
"Isabella? Austin?" Noel shouted from the counter. Noel is Joe's wife, they are the most adorable elderly couple you can have the pleasure of knowing.
"Yes, its us." Austin said while strolling over to the counter with me.
"Sorry we haven't been here in a while." I apologized.
"Its okay darlings, I missed you." Noel said while engulfing us in a hug. "Joe, guess who's here." Noel screamed into the back room.
"Who is it?" Joe came trotting up to us with his head down.
"Hi Joe." Austin and I said in unison. Ive never seen Joe look so happy as he pulled us in for a hug.
Noel, Joe, Austin and I sat down at a table and ate while their kids and employees took over the diner for a while. I told them about Ryan, and the wedding, and how Austin helped me. They listened and were sympathetic, but they have always hated Ryan so they added in a few insults. 20 minutes later they left to resume their places an run the diner.
Austin and I ate our food and drank coffee and had a great time taking in the memories that the old diner held.
"Im glad you didn't get married today," Austin began, "then I wouldn't have been able to have an amazing day with my best friend."
