School. Hours of hell. Thankfully the holidays were right around the corner, as I was dead. Oh wait no, they want to give me a funeral too, by giving me holiday homework.
Define holiday, school. I thought it was a way to get away from school, but apparently, it means; 'hey let's make your holidays hell as you have a bucketload of homework to do!'.
I slumped into the old red car my mum drives and rested my blue hat well on my face. 'Why so glum?' My mum asked, he red hair bouncing as she spoke. Her glittery eyes never left the road, whilst a gentle hand stroked my shoulder for reassurance.
'School. School equals glum.' I replied back, my voice raspy and quiet.
'You won't be saying that in a few years.' I looked at her from under my hat with a disgusted face.
'Gee mum that lifted my spirits already!' Sarcasm.
I sighed and placed my hands in my lap, relaxed. Closer by The Chainsmokers played, which I absolutely hate played on the radio (don't hate on me), for what? The hundred thousand time today?
The song finally finished and the radio host started talking about stupid things that only hey cared about. I was in need for some music and my phone died at school because I was on it during science watching funny dog videos, with laughter to make a embarrassing appearance during school.
But wait.
'And finally, if you love Shawn Mendes dial us up right now to receive a ticket to meet him! Call us on..'
I take it back. Sometimes radio talk isn't always stupid talk.
I took out my phone and pressed the home button. 'Dammit! Mum can I quickly use your phone?' I almost screamed.
'Why? And don't cuss please.' She replied, her eyes still on the road. (Good driver, am I right?)
'DID YOU NOT JUST HEAR? SHAWN FRICKING PETER FRICKING RAUL FRICKING MENDES HERE AND I MEET HIM ONLY ONE CHANCE NEED TO CALL!' My words sputtered out of my mouth. My breath was short and my heart... oh it was long gone.
'Ok, fine fine! And you cussed. Again.'
I sighed and grabbed her phone from her bag. I dialled all the numbers in and placed the phone near my ear. 'Fricking is not cussing mum.'
'There she goes again.' I sighed and chuckled and waited for somebody to answer.
'Hello.' FINALLY! 'The line is very busy, call back another time.'
No. I hung up and called again. I could hear the radio host still talking. 'We are about to answer now!'
It probably won't be me, it probably won't be me. 'Lets go line five!'
Then it happened. 'Hello?' I was speaking to the radio host.
'Oh hi!' I said, regretting it already. My voice was echoing in the car and the radio. My mum looked at me and turned down the radio.
'Well what's your name?'
I told him my name.
'Well, Y/N, you have just received a ticket to see SHAWN MENDES HOW ARE YOU FEELING?!'
'OH MY GOD I'M FEELING GREAT THANK YOU!'
