I think I love Shawn.
I know I love Shawn.
I glanced at him, well I didn't glance, I was staring at him. His beautifully carved face, big smile that could melt hears and brown eyes filled with happiness made me happy. I smiled, taking a hand up to cover the smile. He was wearing beautiful clothes today. He had to. He was wearing a tuxedo, with a black tie, and a rose pinned to his chest. This is probably the only time I would see him in a tuxedo.
I didn't want to doubt myself, but I think I looked beautiful too. I had a white dress on, stretching down to my ankles. The top of the dress contained many tiny sequins. It was not a strapless, but it contained only one strap. My long, brown hair was straightened, a white flower crown placed on my head. Perfect for a wedding.
He squeezed my hand. I looked up at Cameron, who was smiling back at me. I flashed a fake smile, hoping it was real for him to see. His big, brown eyes were beautiful, but we're nothing in comparison to Shawn's. It was great being with Cameron Dallas, but...I know I love Shawn Mendes.
I hope the pain on my face didn't show when Shawn took Emma's hands in his. She smiled at the crowd, preferably looking only at the flashing cameras because they were so bright. The confined to say their vows, and I felt so sick. I didn't want to be here, but for the sake of Shawn, I went.
'They're so cute.' Cameron whispered into my ear. I didn't look back at him.
'They sure are.' I replied, still looking at the both of them. My eyes drifted to the seas, which was illuminated by the moonlight. I wish I had my wedding like this; a beach at night, a reception in a valley, a blue dress, and Shawn to say my vows to. But I knew it would never happen. Emma was too beautiful. She had ombré brown hair, green eyes and a heart of gold. Why on earth would Shawn ever want to marry me?
'Y/N?' I looked up at a concerned Cameron. 'Are you okay? You look like you're going to throw up.'
Of course I wanted to throw up. 'Huh? Oh, I'm- I'm fine, just distracted, by the uh, the sea.'
'It's beautiful.' He didn't glance at the sea once. Shawn would've stared at the sea. In fact, Shawn would've been staring at the sea long before I even glanced at it. I need to stop the comparing. I will never be with Shawn.
'You may now kiss the bride.'
I ran from the reception, away, until my bare feet dragged me to some large, flat rocks. I stepped on them, until I found a rock that water slipped under. I sat on it, not caring if my dress was wet. My mascara was probably running. I couldn't handle the kiss. I ignored Cameron's shouts.
I looked out to the sea, until my sobs turned into sniffles.
'Y/N?' A voice called from behind me.
'Go away, Cameron.' The sobs were back, just the thought of anyone made me cry. I placed my hands over my face, wiping away the sobs.
'Its Shawn, Y/N.' I turned, looking at his face behind me. He was stuck on a rock, one that you had to pass water to reach mine. His face looked at me in concern.
I stood up, and walked towards Shawn, the cold water slipping through my toes. I held out a hand, and he grabbed it, walking through the water. I let go, remembering I shouldn't be holding his hand, and walked onto the rock, sitting down and leaving space for Shawn.
He followed, sitting down next to me. 'Y/N, what's wrong?' His hands were crossed over his knees, and his face was close to mine.
'Shawn,' don't say it, don't say it, 'I'm in love with you.' I said it.
His face filled with shock, but his stare didn't leave my face.
'What? Y/N..I-'
'Save it, you're with Emma now.' I said coldly, picking at my purple painted fingernails.
'Y/N, Emma forced me to marry her, I don't love or like her. Smiles can be fake.'
'Something we both know.' Hope was rising in me. 'Cameron...he cheated on me a few weeks ago.'
'What?!' Shawn had pure anger in his face. Something I only saw once. When Cameron went crazy when he was drunk.
'Shawn, I didn't tell him because I needed someone.'
'You have me! We can run away...or we can-' his eyes were filling up with hope, but I interrupted him.
'The wedding Shawn.' My voice was still flat.'Oh, screw the wedding Y/N. Before I ran to you, I did t accept the vow. Sneaky word play.' He smirked, making me smile. 'I told her it was over.'
'Congratulations?'
'Congratulations indeed.'
'Maybe congratulations will be out always.' We both laughed. But then stopped, and stared at each other.
'Give me a second Shawn.' I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and texted Cmaeron it was over. As if he didn't know.
Shawn leaned closer, and kissed me.
'Now, let's run away.'
