As the siblings walked towards their destinations neither could resist the temptation of looking at everything they walked passed. The stores, the restaurants, parks, everything held some sort of new fascination as they truly realized they are in a new environment and far, far away from home.
The siblings, so overwhelmed with all the new sights, never even noticed the stares and looks people sent their way. Toya, with their father's more green than hazel eyes and mother's dark hair, walked with a sort of confidence that made people look at him with respect. And Miyu, with her dark brown hair that fell down in waves and striking grey eyes (from her grandfather) she easily attracted attention from everyone passing by.
It wasn't long until they reached the street tennis courts and already Miyu's heartbeat was picking up as she could hear the faint noise of tennis balls being hit back and forth.
"Well lil sis, this is your stop. I'll be back in an hour to pick you up, sound good?" Toya looked down just to realize that instead of responding Miyu was already walking forward and up the steps that led to the courts. He sighed and decided to call out again just to make sure she understood, "Miyu! Did you hear me? You get ONE HOUR!"
"Yeah, yeah I heard you the first time! I'll see you in an hour but first I gotta go kick some butt" and with that she turned around completely and took off running up the stairs.
Toya chucked and started towards the basketball courts. There really was no reasoning with Miyu once tennis was on her mind. She would be fine he assured himself. Maybe, just maybe she'd make her first friend in Japan.

The sounds of tennis balls hitting rackets grew louder and louder as she climbed the stairs. Both anticipation and excitement filled her and she got closer and closer. As she reached the top and looked around she noticed that there were actually a couple of nice looking courts and a couple of walls for self practice. There weren't too many people at the moment, which was just fine for Miyu. She wanted to make friends sure, but all she really wanted at the moment was just to hit some balls with her favorite racket. And with that thought in mind she walked over to the double sided wall.
Pak pak pak pak pak pak
She turned her head and noticed a boy facing the wall and hitting his tennis ball over and over. What surprised her was that every time he hit the ball it went to the exact same location, without fail. Miyu couldn't help it, sure she could easily do the same thing but she certainly was not expecting to find someone else with such skill so fast. Miyu stood there and decided to just watch for a couple more seconds when all of a sudden the boy used too much strength and when the ball rebounded against the wall it sailed over his head.
Miyu never even gave it a second thought as she raised her tennis racket and with perfect control and precision hit the ball at the exact same spot the boy had been hitting.
Neither of them moved as the boy just stared at where the ball hit the spot he was previously aiming at. No words were spoken until finally he turned around and saw a really pretty girl standing behind him.
She tapped her racket against her shoulder and gave him a sheepish smile, "Sorry if I disturbed your practice. It was just too good a shot to pass up." More awkward seconds passed by without the boy saying anything and she got to take a good look at him. He wore a white cap on his head but from what she could tell his hair was dark with what looked like green tints in it and his eyes were a stunning gold color.
After Miyu had gotten a look of the guy who seemed around her age and he still had not responded she said, "Uh..yeah okay, well sorry again I'm just gonna go practice over there now. See ya, sorry again!" As she turned around and began to walk away she heard him call out to her, "Wanna play with me?"
Miyu turned around thinking she had heard him wrong. "I'm sorry?" and for the first time since this whole ordeal happened he looked into her eyes, "I said, want to play with me?" and for the first time since this whole ordeal happened she smiled "Sure, but don't cry too much I completely destroy you" and the boy's heart just might have skipped a beat at that smile and those words.

"Ehh.... So you can do a Twist Serve, huh? Not bad" Miyu bent her knees low and smirked, "but it's going to take a lot more than that to beat me". The boy smirked right back at her, "Don't worry, I have a lot more to show" and with that another rally began to take place. As he returned a particularly powerful pass, he tilted his head up and asked "So America, am I ever going to get your name?"
Miyu returned the ball and looked up sharply, "you knew?" The boy actually let out a little laugh, "Your looks and slight accent give you away. I actually moved back here from America not too long ago" Miyu swung her racket and with pinpoint accuracy the ball hit the opposite corner from him and thus won that point.
"Interesting, well how could I deny a request from a fellow American. My name is-"
"MIIIYYYUUUUUUU! MIYU! MIIYYUUU! Come on! Time to go home!"
Both Miyu and the boy looked towards where the yelling was coming from only to see an older boy jogging up the stairs. "Ah..I'm fairly certain that person is here for me" and with a loud sigh she walked over to her bag and packed away her racket. Time just flew by since she started playing with this guy. She stood up and began to walk away but before she went far she turned her head around, "As you have already learned, the name is Miyu. Kinomoto Miyu, and you?" The boy shouldered his own tennis bag and walked towards her, "Ryoma. Echizen Ryoma." He took her outstretched hand and shook it with his own.
Toya had reached the stop of the stairs and waited for Miyu to walk over. He noticed the other boy with her and already could feel the overprotective brother feeling start to take control of his mind and body. Before he could march over there and let the boy have it Miyu began walking towards him. He saw her turn around one last time and say something to the unknown kid.
"Will you be here tomorrow?"
Ryoma raised one of his eyebrows, "I'm not sure, maybe. Why?"
Miyu smirked and replied as innocently as she could, "I want to really play a match with you. I plan on making you switch to your dominate hand. Who knows, maybe I'll even switch to mine. Bye!" and with that said she ran towards her brother.
And for the first time since he had come to Japan Ryoma was completely surprised. His eyes were open wide and both of his brows were raised. As she and the older guy, who he assumed was her brother based off their similarities, disappeared down the steps, Ryoma smiled and walked towards his house thinking about striking grey eyes. She was an interesting girl indeed.
Okay, here it is! I honestly hope you guys like this. I am open to suggestions for everything so if you think I should change anything let me know so please comment! Comments honestly give me motivation to keep writing!
I know Ryoma seems a little OOC but I truly think that he could be talkative to a person he's interested in (not necessarily romantically speaking). But anyways, hope this isn't the worst writing you've ever encountered before!
