~Beau’s POV~

They wouldn’t let me near her in the car ride over, in the book store, anywhere. I just wanted to be with her, touch her skin, take in her smell. But I can’t because I screwed up.

She just made me so mad! But that is no excuse, none at all.

Andrea was in the teen section with Luke whilst everyone else was chillen at the coffee shop. I was reading Of Mice and Men When I looked up to see Luke walking over with a smile on his face.

“Man she just loves her books. She has not spoken a word to me, she is just fixed on her books.” He said sitting down next to Skip.

“Yup, that’s Andrea. Ever since I meet her that is how she has been. Loving her books more than she loves people.” Matt explains taking a drink of his coffee.

“Hey Luke.” I heard her sing. Her voice was like a melody to my ears. I looked over to see her smiling, her eyes lit up and her skin aglow. She was beautiful.

“Yeah?” He asked standing up.

“Can I get a coffee?” She asked coming over to him. He moved a little closer to her and looked down at her smiling.

“Sure, what do you want?” He asks smiling down at her.

“I can get it.” She says back. Luke pulls out a ten and hands it to her and she walks over to the counter to order her coffee. I look back to see Luke watching her and that bugged me. He didn’t even like her before and now he is buying her coffee?

I put my head back in my book and I heard her come over with the change for Luke and she thanked him.

“Do you want to sit down with us?” I heard James ask.

“No I am going to find a book and read it for a bit.” She said and walked back over to the books.

I looked back at the guys and they were all doing their own thing so I got up and went to go see her.

“Where are you going?” I turned around to see Luke staring at me.

“Getting a different book, calm down.” I say and walk towards the books. I turn to see Luke went back to whatever he was doing and snuck over to where she was.

When I rounded the corner I saw her sitting on the ground with her legs crossed reading the inside cover of a book, she looked so at peace and content with what she was doing. I quietly walked up to her and smiled down at her.

“What are you reading?” She jumped a bit and looked up at me with wide eyes, when she registered it was me her face turned a bit pale and that made my stomach drop.

“Um it’s called Zom-B.” She mutters. It is obvious that she is a bit scared but for some reason she is not telling me to leave or anything.

“It’s about a zombie invasion that takes place through the country. It seems really good. ”She says looking back down at the book. She strokes the book then puts it back where it was at. She then stands up and looks at the other books before picking another one out and starts reading the back cover.

“You really love your books don’t you?” I acknowledge.

She smiles “Yeah I do.”

“Well why aren’t you getting any?” I ask

She looks up at me blankly, “Because I don’t have any money.”

“Well I do and I say you can get as many as you want.” I say smiling down at her.

“I-I can’t do that.” She says putting the book back.

“Yes you can. Take it as a gift.” I say moving a bit closer to her.

She examines my face, “Are you trying to win me over by buying me books?”

“Ha! No, I am not like that. I just figured why not buy you something you will use and enjoy?” I say.

It took her moment but then she smiled up at me and pulled me into her for a hug. I wrapped my arms around her and took in her smell. It was amazing to have her with me, simply amazing.

“What the hell is going on!” I hear Luke yell as he pulls Andrea off of me. I glare at him and see Andrea’s confused face as she looks up at Luke.

“He offered to buy me books so I gave him a hug. Is that a crime?” She asks.

“Do you not remember what he did to you?” Luke says in her face.

I saw Andrea go blank, like she lost all emotions towards him and I knew he could tell also because his face softened a bit to her reaction.

“Yes I remember, but sometimes it is best to forget to the dark memories and remember the ones that shine, and this one will shine.” She returned.

I saw Luke’s face drop, “Fine.” He mutters and walks away.

Her face was still cold and lifeless even after he walked away, like he hit a nerve that should never be hit.

“Andrea?” I say coming closer to her.

She snaps her head towards me and gives me a half ass smile, “I’m fine.” I knew she was lying but there was no use pressing on that nerve.

I clap my hands together, “Alright, are you ready to get some books?”
