Stiles
Stiles regretted calling Lydia's name the very second he did.
"Stiles?" she separated from Jackson - What the heck was he doing here? - "What are you - I mean, I didn't know you-"
"No, no, it's okay. Sorry I've bothered - I mean, interrupted you... or whatever. So, I'll just go-"
"You better do, freak. We're busy here." Jackson didn't even look at him.
At this moment, Stiles thought how lovely it would be to face an alpha pack. Or pack of kanima's. Or anything besides this freakin' situation.
"Yeah, well, seeya. I mean, no. No seeing. I mean, I do have nothing against seeing. You see me right now, don't you?" Shut up, Stiles! he yelled at himself. He was supposed to leave, but he was just standing there, blabbing sillier than a gossip girl. "What I meant to say was-"
"Just shut up, you bitch; and piss off!" Jackson cried. Stiles stepped back, hurted. What hurted him wasn't Jackson's words; he was listening to them all the time - all the cool kids were saying it. He was hurted to see Lydia doing nothing about it, just staring at the back sit.
"Bye", he whispered, "Goodbye, Lydia", and it meant much more.
Lydia
From the outside, she looked perfect. From the inside she was roting.
"So", Jackson turned back to her when Stiles was out of sight. "Where were we?"
"You were trying to take my dress off", she said emotionlessly.
"Right", he growled with pleasure. He attempted to kiss her again, but she avoided it.
"I wanted to ask you something, about all these supernatural shit..."
He tensed, but answered her. "In London I found an alpha with no pack. He was harsh, but he helped me to learn to control my abilities. And what happened here?"
She waved her hair. "I mostly stayed out of it all." She never told a bigger lie.
"But when that guy - Peter, right? - attacked you, you were supposed to turn into a werewolf? Why didn't you?"
She shrugged. "Scott told me I was immune. Bah. Big deal", she figured to become better and better in lying.
Jackson seemed okay with her answer. Something else was bothering him. "Was there anything between you and Stilinski?"
No, not at all, she thought, he was just the most beautiful, comforting, caring person ever to walk on this Earth. "Stiles Stilinski? No. Why would you think that?" she said and faked a smile.
"He seemed really hurted by seeing you with me."
"Well, he's been in love with me since, like, forever", her words were like a poison to herself.
"Right. And one more question. Where's Allison? She isn't answering any texts or calls. I believe she changed her number. Where is she now?"
Lydia felt sudden cold. Like she was chocking.
"I-can I just get some fresh air?" she didn't wait to hear his answer. She fell out of the vehicle and started running. What have I done?, she wondered. She called herself smart? Well, she was the worst dumbass the world has ever seen. How could she let herself become so silly again? But, she hated to admit, the worst pain was caused by the look Stiles gave her. Like he doesn't recognise her anymore. And why didn't she say anything?
"Lydia!" Jackson called her, but she didn't look around. I don't know what I feel!, she wanted to scream. But she didn't. She just kept going. Few drops of rain fell on her teared face. She didn't even realised she was crying. She fasten up her step, went around the corner. And another. Seemed that she lost Jackson. But she saw someone else.
"Stiles!" she cried. "Stiles!"
He didn't turn around, but he slowed down. She rushed to him.
"Stiles, please..." she touched his arm.
"What, Lydia?!" he suddenly turned around. "What?"
She stepped back, startled. "Look, I - I'm sorry - "
"Sorry? But, Lydia, you are always sorry. When you are mean, rude, or anything. Sorry. But did I ever hurt you?"
She waved her head. "Hurting you hurts me."
He laughed with no joy. "Let me tell you a story. Thre once was a boy. He had anger issues. Then his father told him to, every time he gets angry, he knocks a screw into the fence - yes, a screw -. He did and it helped. When he finally got rid of his issues, the fence was full of screws. He pulled them out, and his father told him this: when you get angry, you hurt people. You can apologize later, but the scar remains. Just like the holes in the fence."
"I never meant to hurt you", tears were running down her face.
"But you did, Lydia, so many times. But I always forgave you. You know why? Because I love you. I have loved you since the moment I first saw you, and I love you still. And I will love you till I die and beyond. No matter how much you hurt me."
And then, he just turned and walked into the rain.
