Chris adjusts Lin's tie after they finish their performance. "You got it man?" He asks.

"Yeah, extremely nervous, but yeah." Anyone could tell that he was extremely nervous by the fact Anne wasn't keeping any form for more than ten minutes, from where she is perched on Lin's shoulder.

    "You got the rock?"

"Yes, why do you think I didn't leave my coat with Vanessa."

    "Her dad said yes right?"

Lin raises his eyebrows, "Of course, I wouldn't be asking if I didn't."

"So do you think it's like a sign from God saying it'd a good time to ask her if we win best musical or?"

"No,  Tommy and Lak said that I was dragging my feet too much, and that if I could write a Tony winning musical then I should have the balls to ask her."

    "So it was a dare?"

    "Yep."

    "Sober when you made it?"

"Nope." He pops the "p" a little which makes Chris laugh.

"Are you scared she's going to say no?"

"Not really, I mean she kept me when I was broke and makin' breakfast, so I feel like she'll still keep me."

    "Good point."

Lin chuckles, "Thank you, and how strong are you?"

"Pretty strong. I mean I've picked up a few girls in some shows, including this one."

"You think you could back spot for me?"

    "Why?"

"Tommy and Lak just told me to look for someone who could back spot for me."

"Sure, I guess I can just try to give me a signal."

    "Ok."

Lin and Chris go back to their seats to finish watching the award show and Lin was having a really great time until he heard, "And the nominees for Best Musical are." His blood began to run cold while his hands began to sweat, what he could only imagine is all the fluids in his body. Vanessa notices him vigorously wiping his hands on his pant legs and grabs the hand closest to her while Asher gives Anne a comforting lick. Lin looks over at Vanessa and sees her calming smile. God she's gorgeous, he thinks.

It seems like an eternity before Lin hears, "And the winner is... In The Heights. Lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and book by Quiara Hudes."

Lin breaks out in a huge smile and fists bumps Vanessa before rushing to the stage that was being flooded by producers and actors. After Lin's dance with Woopie and the acceptance speech Tommy and Lak hoist Lin onto their shoulders while Chris, thank God back spotted. In unison the whole cast shouts at the top of their lungs, "We love Broadway!".

They start to lower Lin and he keeps a tight hold on the Tony, making sure not to drop the award.

Lin heads back to his seat to wait out the last few minutes of the show, before the cast goes to Tavern on the Green. Anne has shifted into a ring-tailed lemur in the midst of the excitement.

"Now it's time for the party." Vanessa says, a smile on her face and a look of pride in her eyes.

The cast begins to make their way to Tavern on the Green. The courtyard is lit up with fairy lights. Lin looks over and sees Vanessa's face light up. The two dance for most of the night, until Lin sees Tommy and Lac give him the look.

    "Hey V?" Lin asks.

    "Yeah."

"Want to get some fresh air?"

    "Lin we're already outside."

"Then do you want to get away from the noise?" Anne climbs onto Lin's shoulder, her natural place to go when Lin's nervous. He would scratch the top of her head, if not for the fact that his hands are in his pockets, trying to both hide his sweaty palms and make sure that he remembered to move the ring from his tux jacket to his pants pocket.

"Is something wrong Lin, you seem nervous?"

"I am a little, but it's just 'cause I'm scared of messing up."

    "Messing up what?"

"I mean you're so smart and funny and-"

"Lin, what are you even scared of messing up?"

"Proposing to you." Lin wasn't even thinking with the flurry going through his mind.

    "Yes."

    "What?"

"My answer to your proposal is yes."

    Lin's jaw dropoed, "Really?"

    "Of course."

Anne goes down to Archer stroking his fur.

Vanessa clears her throat, "Um, I think that a kiss is supposed to follow the question." She drapes her arms over his shoulders.

"I think first is supposed to be the ring." Lin pulls the ring from his pocket and slips it on her finger, before sealing the proposal with a kiss.

A.N. Sorry for the not so romantic proposal, somehow this is how my mind went.
