Stagedoor Suprise

"Man the kids in the standby line seem to be getting younger and more persistent." Chris says, leaning in the doorframe of Lin's dressing room.

"Why do you say that?" Lin questions, pausing his Assassins Creed game and looking over to Chris.

"There's this girl and I see her sitting outside the theatre almost every time I come, she's usually not here for the weekday matinee though."

"Maybe she's just stubborn, and why do you think she's young?"

"Her dæmon still shifts."

"My dæmon still shifts."

"Yeah, but you're rare. I mean most people have their dæmons settle by the time they graduate."

"It's probably nothing Chris, but I'll keep an eye out for her when I stagedoor ok?"

Chris nods and moves to sit on the floor next to Lin as CJ hops on the sofa and lays by Anne. "So how's fatherhood treating you?"

"There's a lot of regret."

Chris sits up a little straighter, "You've got to be kidding me."

"No, like I don't regret being a dad, I just regret the time frame in which it happened. I mean like I want to tuck my kid in at night, and see the first time his dæmon shifts forms. I don't want to be the kind of dad Sebastian will never see."

CJ licks Anne, while Chris begins to talk in a sensitive voice. "Lin you're not going to be that kind of dad. I mean you'll have at least one night to tuck him in, which I know sucks but it's still something. Don't forget you'll have mornings with him."

Lin perks up a little, "True."

"And you'll learn how to make time I promise. I went though the same stuff with Sarah during Heights."

"Thanks man. I love that I have someone to talk to about this stuff."

"Hey anytime bro, and don't forget to look for that girl at stagedoor. She's like 5'8, with blackish-brown curly hair, pale, and has greenish-blue eyes. Her dæmon seems to like weasels and cats mainly, but it does change sometimes."

"Will do Chris."

After the show Lin was stagedooring when he felt a tap on his shoulder. "What?"

"There's the girl." Chris points to a teenager in the crowd with a ferret dæmon on her shoulder.

"Dang she is young. You say she's here almost everyday?"

"Yeah, and I never see any parents with her."

"Ok." Lin starts to head to the stagedoor.

"What are you doing man?"

"I'm gonna get security and have them escorts her inside so we can figure out what's going on."

"You think it'll work?"

"Not sure it it'll work, but it can't make things any worse."

"True."

Lin goes to the security guards and points the girl out. One of them nods and heads inside the theare so he can go through the back of the crowd to get her. Lin though there'd be less chance of her running doing it this way. Chris and Lin finished stagedooring and went inside, trying to act as natural as possible in this unusual situation.

A.N. So the main character technically got introduced and the picture at the top is what her dæmon looked like. I don't have anything for how Anne looks, but it's most likely the ring tailed lemur I had a few chapters back.
