                                              What A Smile Can Hide
                          It's really amazing what a smile can hide
                          hides the hurt from others

                          Like it's a one way mirror and they're on the wrong side.
                          Telling you're tired, you need to be sleeping
                          so you smile
                          but inside you're crying, silently weeping.
                          It's a shield that no one can see behind
                          leaving them thinking you're happy
                          ignorant and blind.
                          It's the reason you say your eyes are red from soap
                          when really it's because you're beyond what you can cope.
                          Sometimes it's better to hide the scars and pain
                          protects the ones you love
                          even when it's driving you insane.
                          They wouldn't know, if you've already died inside
                          because it's truly amazing
                          what a smile can hide.
