I took in a deep breath as the two policemen led me down the hallway filled with cells and many other inmates. They all whistled and howled at me as I walked by. I just looked down and stared at the floor. "This is where I belong now," I thought to myself as we walked further down the hall.
"Aye sweet cheeks your going to fit right in."
My head shot up and saw the prisoner responsible for saying those words. He had a full beard and had his hands sticking out of the cell. "Do you want me to hold your hands sweetheart?" I asked as I grabbed his hands and did a cart while to twist them. The man screamed in pain and the policemen simply chuckled at my action.
"Yeah he'll be alright in Arkham," One of the cops said as they brought me to an empty cell. They opened the cell and uncuffed my hands. "Get in there!" The cop shoved me into the cell and I almost fell on my face if I wouldn't of placed my hands in front of me.
I quickly stood up and shot the cop a mean glare as he started to walk away. A frustrated sigh left my pink lips as I threw myself onto the bed. My mind raced with a ton of thoughts and they all led back to Liam, what I did, and who am I?
"If only I would've listened to Greg and I wouldn't be here now. There wouldn't be a Catman, I would've never of met Liam, and he wouldn't be dead or captured by Bane. Maybe I should just give up?"
"What are you doing?"
My head shot up as I heard a familiar voice speak. A tear nearly came out of my eye as I saw Greg in the small cell mirror. "Oh-no... I've gone crazy," I mumbled to myself as I sat up on the cell bed.
A chuckle escaped out of Greg's mouth; a laugh that I've missed since I left Ireland and my family in the hands of those gang members. "You were always crazy Ni," Greg said with his arms crossed over his chest.
Slowly I stood up and made my way over to the sink. I stared into the mirror with Greg's presents and noticed my reflection wasn't shown. "You're dead," I muttered out with little emotion. "How are you here?"
"I'm not actually here Ni," Greg answered simply. "Well physically anyway. I'm inside your head."
I narrowed my eyes towards him, "How are you inside my head."
Greg smiled as he replied, "I thought you were smarter than this Ni? Haven't you ever wondered why I would always win at guessing games and how I found out what you were up to?"
My mind started to comb back to when Greg and I were younger. I did always wonder why he'd win and get the answer within a second. He even figured out I was in contact with the gang members, "So what are you saying you have mind powers?"
"Had," Greg corrected me. "I had mind powers, now that well I'm gone I can't really use them." Greg looked straight into my blue eyes and could tell I'm confused about what he's telling me. "Before you were born, Mullingar was a much different place. Ireland's government was aware of the existence of meta-humans and they wanted to discover what they were capable of."
"Why didn't I know about this?" I questioned as I gripped the sink tightly.
"Cause nobody knew," Greg answered as he looked firmly towards me. "Members of the government would live in many areas to watch if there were any super humans. Since I was able to read their minds I managed to keep my powers hidden from them, my friends, and even my family. I didn't want them to separate us..."
"But they didn't cause us to separate," I stated calmly. "You tried your best to keep us together whilst I tore us apart." Tears escaped my eyes, but I didn't sob nor sniffle. I simply wiped them away with the back of my hand.
