Safire was shaking my shoulder, forcefully. “Gee, Ericka, I thought you’d never wake up.”
My sisters were already dressed in traveling clothes and were packing away their belongings.
I quickly got dresses and ran down the hallway looking for Jenkins. I accidentally bumped into him.
“Sir Jenkins, I had a dream!” I panted, breathlessly. “It was with the Lord. He said to inform you that the Lord of Light is to come.”
Jenkins stared straight ahead, his mouth quivering to form some-what of a smile. “That is the greatest news yet!”
Aaron and my sisters, whom were behind me, looked confused.
Jenkins sat me down and I began to describe my dream to him. He was nodding along, excited as a young child.
“This is amazing. We must do as asked. Aaron?" Jenkins asked, giddily.
Aaron responded with a wave. He had been standing in the corner of the sitting room and looked bored with this conversation.
“Do you know how to sword fight?” Jenkins asked.
Aaron nodded. That wasn’t unusual. Most boys in Donstania were taught at a young age.
“Train the princesses, my boy. I have a feeling that we have a war ahead of us.” Jenkins seemed too happy to be announcing a war. He walked over to a nearby shelf. “I have been waiting for this.”
Jenkins pulled a bronze sword out of it. It was decorated with gems on the handle and was as firm as rock. “Princess Galena, to you the Earth Blade.” Galena slowly walked over and Jenkins handed her the sword which she handled carefully and amazed.
Next, he pulled out a turquoise sword whom I immediately knew who it was for. “Princess Aqua of the sea. Here’s a sword made from where you’re from; the sea.” Aqua walked up to receive the sword and reacted just as Galena had.
Then he pulled out an iron sword with a firm handle. Jenkins quickly dropped it. “Princess Safire, this is to you. A burning handle just for you.” Safire grinned, pleased to be given such a deadly weapon and took it from the floor.
I knew I was probably next. Jenkins pulled out a sword with a sharp silver blade that shined. However, he motioned for Aaron to come forward. What about me? He handed it to Aaron. “Aaron Delgado, more than a musician.” Aaron accepted it, gratefully.
I thought he had forgotten me but Jenkins pulled out another sword. It had a gold blade and a leather grip. “Princess Ericka, I assume this will be useful. Gold attracts lightning which will make that part of your power a tad bit easier.”
I accepted the weapon, astonished. I could control lightning too?
"These swords will help you battle with your powers easier, and deadlier." Then Jenkins walked in front of us and told us that we could turn the sword into a charm bracelet by tapping the handle twice. I did as told and sure enough on my wrist was a metal bracelet with one charm dangling down; a sword charm.
My sisters looked like they had the same result but not Aaron.
Jenkins handed him a leather belt with a loop to fit his new sword. “Sorry, son, you don’t get a bracelet.”
