"Hunter?" asked a voice. I was jarred awake, nearly falling out of my seat.
"Wh-what? What's going on?" I asked. I looked over to my right and saw my girlfriend, Miljan sitting next to me with a smile on her face.
"You fell asleep again, you dope!" she replied, giving me a gentle push. I shook my head.
"Again huh?" I felt the bus come to a stop.
"We're here!" Miljan chirped. I stood up from my seat and looked out of the window to see our school looming in the darkness. "Man, they make us wake up too early for school," grumbled a nearby student. I shouldered my backpack and followed Miljan out of the bus. She grabbed my hand, leading me into the school.
"Where were you yesterday night?" she asked. I thought back to the night before, the lightning crashing and the rain pouring down.
"I was...out," I replied. Miljan didn't look convinced but didn't press the issue any further. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and went on ahead. Suddenly, my best friend Carter ran up to me, clearly out of breath. "What's up?" I asked.
He pushed his glasses up his nose. "Uh...How did..uh...the thing go last night?" he asked, twiddling his fingers.
I clenched my fist. "Not well," I growled. I pulled Carter aside. "He didn't even looked fazed when he saw me," I said.
Carter shrugged. "Maybe you're not as feared anymore?"
I shook my head again. "That can't be it. He looked as if he KNEW I was going to be there."
Carter held up his hands. "Hey man, if you doubt my skills in private broadcasts and radio channels, I'd be happy to back out of this."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "I'd never doubt you Carter." The bell rang and I waved a hand goodbye to Carter. "See you later!" He waved back and I walked into the school, heading off to class.

"And here we see a prime example of Shakespeare's greatest work...."
I felt my eyes starting to close, tired from both the consistent droning of my teacher and the insufficient sleep I had last night.
"Hey! You need to stay awake!" hissed Carter. "You'll get in trouble!" He slapped my arm, waking me up.
"Th-thanks man," I muttered, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. I heard the teacher tap the whiteboard with her meter stick.
"Excuse me Mr. Patterson, but could you tell me the name of Shakespeare's play based on his son and the year?" the teacher asked.
I thought back to when Bruce taught me about this, tutoring me in not only martial arts and combat, but literature and science as well. "Hamlet, between 1599 and 1605," I replied.
The teacher nodded her head in approval. "Nicely done," she praised. She turned her attention back to the board. "Now, can someone tell me what happened during..." I quit listening for I had already fallen asleep, despite Carter's protests.

Lunchroom
"Are you okay?" asked Miljan. I snapped back to attention.
"Huh? Yeah...uh. I'm good," I replied absentmindedly. She gave me a sideways glance.
"You've been a real scatterbrain lately," she said. She scooted her chair closer to me and put her head on my shoulder.
"I just have....a lot on my mind," I said, twirling my fork in my hands. I looked over at Carter. "Is uh..that "thing" I asked for ready?" Carter nearly choked on his sandwich.
"Absolutely. You'll definitely be amazed!" he replied. I nodded my head. I looked over at Miljan.
"I'll see you later then?" I asked. She nodded her head. I went back to my pasta. "Alright then."
