- Oh. My .God. Is this really you? - she asked coming in my direction.
- In flesh and bone. - I answered smiling.
She ran to me and we both shared a hug. That moment felt so right, like if nothing in the world matter.
- I'm so glad you're out. - she whispered.
- Me too. - I said, as we stepped back a little.
We got in the house and we both decided to make lunch to celebrate, until we realized we didn't have that big of an experience in cooking so Alex just got a frozen pizza and slid it into the oven.
We sat on the couch as we waited for the oven to do its wonders. We started to chat about school. Alex had a couple tests in which she had pretty good grades tho. I couldn't believe that anyone could have so many A's. As we talked the conversation turned to me and my psychologist/psychiatrist. I still didn't now what she was. I told her a very light version of what I told the doctor, no big details. I wasn't secure enough to tell her my past yet. Of course, we were great friends, but that wasn't the problem. I was too scared of what her reaction could be. She could think I was some sort of freak and never talk to me again.
We heard a bip and got to the kitchen. We took the pizza out of the oven and started to eat slice after slice as we talked about the most random things our minds could come up with.
At some point I looked at the clock. "3 PM" I said to myself. We've been talking for a while now, but I felt to desire to in ending it.
We cleaned up the few things we got dirty and got to the living room again. Alex suggested some World Of Warcraft to which I couldn't say no. We turned her computer
and the living room desktop on and played for hours, that seemed like simples seconds.[17 Nov. 2015]
I woke up feeling very well and decided to go to school in a long time. I got myself ready as I usually did. My super emo black clothing, my guyliner and my straight hairspray-full hair.
I got downstairs and found my mom eating a bowl of cereal. She looked at me, a surprised look on her face.
- Hey honey. - She said cleaning her mouth.
- Hi mom. - I answered.
I got to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of orange juice.
- You woke up early. You going to school? - she asked, getting a spoon full of milk afterwards.
- Yeah, I'm feeling like it today. - I said.
I toasted some bread and got to the table, sitting in front of her. We both ate in silence, maybe because we didn't have much to talk about, maybe because it was early.
I cleaned my glass and my plate, said goodbye to my mother and got to Alex's. I knocked on the door. No answer. I knocked again. The same. I was about to knock a third time when the door opened. I saw Alex coming out the door, a smile on her face.
- Good morning! - she said stepping out of the house and closing the door.
- Good morning. - I replied.
She turned around and we started to walk. With every step we took Alex would shiver a little.
- You cold? - I asked concerned.
- A little but it's alright. Temperatures are getting lower by the day. - she said with a little laugh at the end.
I smiled in response and we both kept walking. The wind got stronger and I closed my jacket and lifted the hood up. Alex hurried her red beanie in her head even more trying to stop the cold.
We got to school in a blink of an eye. Each of us went to their lockers, which weren't ver far away from each other. I opened it and took a book from inside, walking to Alex after. I saw her closing the locker with a pile of books in her hands.
I looked at her with a funny look from all the books she carried, and she smiled.
- I love books.... What else can I say? - she commented,
We walked away, and stopped as we stood between each other's classrooms. We said goodbye and I followed my way, just like her. I got in the classroom as the bell rang making my ears hurt. Is it just me or do this things tend to get more fucking louder as time passes by? Geez.
I sat on my usual spot, and saw Kyle for the first time in this two weeks. His hair was now a little shorter, a little wavy and dyed in even more bright blonde then before. He had now two little piercing under his lip. It had only been such a short time but he sure had changed a lot.
He sat in front of me as he always did, with one of his friends next to him. I didn't quite know his name but I always recognized his face.
Both of them spoke about a certain football match that happened last night. Was I the only guy in the planet that didn't like sport?
The teacher got in and started to teach right away. He started to talk about the things that would be on the test and I quickly started to take notes of all of it. One of the things Dr. Smith had inspired me to was into getting better grades. I could now have a future. I wanted a future.
