Elisa and Dixon arrived the next morning. They seemed nervous around me, did Violet tell them about my memory? I was tired, they arrived early that morning, around 8:30 a.m. at least.
They came into my room awkwardly. Elisa had slightly wavy black hair and green eyes. She was wearing normal clothing, skinny jeans and a black T-shirt. Dixon had deep brown hair with dark blue eyes. He was wearing dark jeans, a blue T-shirt that said out of order in black letters, and grey vans."Nice crazy hair." The person who I assumed was Dixon said jokingly.
Elisa Whacked him in the stomach, "Watch it Dixon! Remember, her memory is wiped." She said annoyed while Dixon clenched his stomach in pain. I stood up confused and tired and they both took a step back, nearly jumping.
"Your healed! Already?" She exclaimed.
"Yes, Violet told me so and somehow i'm healed. " I sat back down on my hospital bed. "Are there any others here to take me to what you call, the base?" I asked.
"Yes, tons! There would have been more but we had a limit, the rest are outside, they really wanted to come in to see you." She said brushing back a strand in front of her eye. Dixon nodded, "They were really excited too." He sat down on the couch in the back of the room. Elisa yawned. "Did Violet tell you about us? I hope she did."
I shook my head. "She only told me that you two would be here to pick me up."
"Well, i'm Elisa, which is short for Elisabeth but people just call me Elisa."
"Elizabeth?"
"No, Elisssaabeth. With an s, don't worry, a lot of people get it wrong."
"No they don-"
"Quiet Dixon!" She said turning back to the man who still hadn't fully introduced himself yet.
"You're Dixon?" I asked him and he nodded. "Dixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxon and there's nothing else to it." He smirked looking at Elisa and stood up. "Nice to meet you again Adeline."
"Like the pencil?" I asked.
"No, I can not and will not relate to that in any way, ever! I was not named after a pencil brand!"
"We should probably check you out of here now." Elisa said and came over to help me out of my bed then realized I didn't need any. I stood up and walked over to the door. Dixon held it open and we both left into the crowded hallway. There were tons of people just as Elisa had said. Most wore the same uniform.
"Oh thank goodness you're safe Adeline!" A voice rang out from the crowd.
"She's okay!" Another shouted.
Here and there were more shouts and sighs of relief. We pushed through the crowd and out to the exit. "Don't worry about them, they were just kinda worried." Elisa said staring forward.
"Kinda? They all seemed VERY worried!"Elisa and I hopped into the backseat of a car while Dixon slid into the drivers. We pulled out and after a couple if minutes I finally spoke.
"How far away is the base?" I asked.
"3 hours, I recommend you fall asleep." She replied staring out the window.
"What do I have to do when we get back to the base?"
"Oh just learn a couple of things. We'll also be focusing on how to trigger your memory."
"What are the couple of things I'll be learning?"
"Oh, just rediscovering your intense ability to fight, using guns, finding your multiple powers, seeing into your advancing rank, trying to trigger your memory some more, doing challenges and obstacles, and more." She said without stuttering.
"God Elisa! You're starting to sound like Violet." Dixon said jokingly from the driver's.
Elisa laughed. "You say that like it's a bad thing."
I watched Dixon struggle to hold in his laughter silently."Violet's smart, anyone would want to be Adeline's assistant."
"Well, kind of anyways." Dixon said and glanced at me then looked away.
Was I supposed to feel offended? I laughed and continued to stare out the window nervously. What was I supposed to be like when we got back to the base? What was the base even like? It's all so confusing.
We all talked for awhile and before I knew it there was only an hour left. The scenery slowly changed from a scorching desert to a cold and mysterious forest. We sped along on a path tiredly. I tried to watch the sun rise higher into the sky but I couldn't quite see it due to all the trees. I could feel my eyes growing heavy, which was unusual. I usuallyu don't fall asleep on any car trips. At least, that's what I thought but I couldn't remember anything past just being at the hospital and just a few things about myself.
A little while later I fell asleep. It felt like I had blinked. Like I never slept at all because soon I was shaken awake by Elisa.
"We're here." She whispered to me.
