1985.

The year of great movies like Back to the Future or The Goonies.

Also the year where Disney's forgotten movie was made.

Because of The Black Cauldron it almost ended The Disney Studios because its failure in box office and the studio losing money fast

(Not to mention, Disney fired Tim Burton and John Lasseter at this time)

But The Black Cauldron was one of Disney's poor management that didn't do so well after Walt's death in 1966.

As well all know Disney has eras and the time period that didn't do so well for Disney was the Dark Age.

The Dark Age for Disney wasn't fun plus the 1980's didn't go so well for them ether. (I personally love the movies that came out in the Dark Age and looking back now, I can see why they failed for Disney) (But some did pretty good)

Anyway, Disney saw that they needed to change and in 1986 Disney came out with a movie with mixed computer animation in it.

After the hit of The Great Mouse Detective, Disney fixed they're mistakes and released The Little Mermaid in 1989: Starting The Disney renaissance

And thus, Disney was saved once again but this time, by a mouse detective.
