"How do Korean barbecue and kimchi stew for lunch sound to you?" I suggest to Cathy. We are on our third day of our trip, strolling around markets.
"The same thing we had when you took me to a Korean restaurant two months ago?"
"Correct."
"Okay."
We continue walking and check the restos we pass by. I have received the good news from Tina, my head, about getting the account. And with that, there's a small celebration tomorrow among the people involved. I take the chance to ask her about Jaden Lee's involvement. She is surprised too, so I only get the answer a few hours later. Jaden Lee's one of the stock holders of KMO. That explains why he's there. Cathy is so ecstatic when she finds out the possibility that I'll meet him again tomorrow. She spends two goddamn hours planning for my outfit. Not that I am complaining because it is not my thing. I just make sure to monitor her during, so there's no surprising like last time.
I flinch when I feel that my forearm is pulled, hit, or whatever, but one thing is for sure. It hurts. I turned to my side to see a girl, in her early 20s, dragging me.
She screeches. I try to remove my arm being gripped by her.
"Miss? You're hurting me."
"We hate you!" She continues pulling my arm, which is probably red by now.
"Excuse me?" I don't even have the chance to get mad because of too much shock. Her tight grip is really hurting me though. I put some force to free my arm, and it works. "What is your problem?" Is she drunk or something? I don't even know her.
"Stay away from Oppa!"
I scrunch my forehead. Who the hell is he?
"Belle!" Cathy screams.
"Plok." My eyes immediately close trying to prevent that sticky liquid from getting into my them. My hand automatically lands on my head, which by the way, stings. I hear another breaking sound which comes from the ground. There I see an egg, freshly cracked. A portion of its shell has scattered on the floor. Maybe three fourths of the egg is still intact. I touch my stinging forehead again, and there I realize that I am hit by an egg. Seriously?
I roam my eyes to look for the culprit. It is the same girl. I see red. I walk closer to her.
"Are you crazy?!" I clench my teeth. I don't want to catch anyone's attention, but that's kind of impossible for some passers-by and store owners have already gathered around us.
"Hey, Miss. What's wrong with you?" Cathy butts in. Thank goodness for her attentiveness as she gives me a couple of wipes. I've never been happy to see wipes in my life. I take it from her and start wiping my head. Really? An egg?
"Stay away from Jaden!" That's all she says before leaving.
"Jaden as in Jaden Lee?" I mutter.
"Well, he's the only Jaden you know, don't you?" Cathy answers me.
I am speechless, mortified, and raging, all together at the same time. A part of me wants to run after her and lets her explain and apologize. However, there's an equal part of my brain that says just leave her and be the bigger person. Besides, I an in a foreign country. Worst case is to be swarmed by her countrymen and get posted on social media. How shameful!
"Come on, let's look for a place to eat, so you can fix yourself too." She pulls my arm, so I start walking.
After relaxing a little by walking some blocks, we enter a typical Korean restaurant. I head straight to the restroom to wash my face. Unfortunately, there is a small wound. My blood boils every time I remember the egg incident.
