The ride to Korean Folk Village was surprisingly smooth despite our limited knowledge in directions. Cathy and I decided to go on tourist mode in full blast for our remaining days in Korea.
When we reached the entrance to pay for the admission fee, a lot of students in group and youngsters huddled near the main gate. I began to feel a little stuffy. Ever since the press incident two days ago, I had always been paranoid with groups of people. This was why Cathy had made me wear sunglasses and a cap. Not that I was complaining, it's pretty sunny in Yongin.
Speaking of Cathy, I still had not fully forgiven her about what she said in the car when Jaden took us back to our hotel. Remember the winking incident? It became more embarrassing because she saw it too. And Cathy being Cathy would not let it slide.
"Did you just wink at Belle?" She remarked like a kid that just learned a new thing.
"Apparently, yes. Unless I have some kind of eye disorder." Jaden said without any hints of embarrassment.
"That's the spirit. You can wink at her all you want."
I mentally shrug it off my mind. Ugh, Cathy! The things that I had to go through because of her.
And speaking of Jaden's phone number, I saved it. But then what? Nothing happened. It's not like we're going to be textmate or something.
We paid at the counter and went inside the village. Cathy dragged me to the first traditional house that we saw. There were mini statues of early people portraying daily forms of living. We moved from one place to another. Cathy feeling like a vlogger, forced me take Instagram-worthy photos of her.
"Belle, you have to make me look taller, okay?" She instructed for the third time. We were in a field surrounded by yellow flowers. The plants grew up until our waist. The flowers were instagrammy enough. I so wanted to tell Cathy but that would just earn me some punches. She had been complaining that she looked small, but the picture was fine with me.
"Can't you just tiptoe? I'm gonna take the shot from the ground." I moved backward and bent enough to angle the camera starting from the ground where she exactly stood. This was harder than working out. She's all out in posing. She even made me carry her bag which according to her, a photobomber. I took seven shots until I told her okay. I was a sweaty mess after. I gave her bag and camera back with a little force.
"Thank you, bessy." She pinched my cheeks and gladly took her stuff back. "Wow. You're improving. I like this one the most." She showed me the photo she had chosen. "It's your turn." She moved back and pushed me forward to the field.
"No, thanks. I have already taken a selfie. I'm all good."
"No. No. I need to show you so you'll learn more for my next photos." I huffed sashaying backward. "Okay. Candid." That's the pose I hated the most especially when you're faking it. My relationships with cams weren't that fine. "Belle, you're so stiff. Look at that side." She pointed her hand on the right. I followed it with my vision and tried to relax. "Touch the flower and pretend like you're smelling." My eyes averted back at her with some glaring. She smiled knowing how irritated I was with her instructions. "Okay, enough." I sighed and walked towards her.
I noticed in my peripheral vision, a bunch of grade school students in their PE uniform approaching us. They seemed like around eight to nine years old. A girl in pig tails who was shyly walking looked at me. The rest of the kids were behind her like she's some kind of a leader.
"Excuse me." She said cheekily. "Can we have a picture with you?"
No matter how cute she was I couldn't stop but feel a little nervous. I wanted to ask why, but Cathy beat me to it.
