"I'll see you in work tomorrow, then?" I asked.
"Yep," Dan confirmed hastily, "See you soon!" He waved goodbye to me as he walked away.
The drive home was quiet and relaxing. I didn't play music, I just thought about everything that's happened. I hope things work out between Suzy and I. I started to become upset about it.
"I'm home," I said when I walked through the door. I raised my voice so Jon would hear me.
"Welcome back," Jon replied, walking over to me.
"Jon," I started, "Do you think that things will be okay between Suzy and I?"
"I'm sure things will get better," he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Yeah," I nodded, and Jon led me to the couch.
"So, what happened to you guys, anyways?"
"Suzy and I argued, and we ended up not-" my voice shook, and I tried my best to steady it, taking a deep breath, "-not really liking each other anymore...?" My vision started to go blurry, my eyes stinging with tears.
"Arin," Jon spoke in a calming sort of way, "You're going to be okay," he cooed to me, "You always have me."
"I miss Suzy, though," I cried out, tears now falling freely, "I miss her so much."
"Oh, no, Arin," he whispered, "I know you miss her, but you'll be okay," he patted my back.
"What if I'm not?" I choked out, leaning closer into Jon.
"Shh," Jon started to stroke my hair, "Do you want to tell me what you two were fighting about?"
"No!" My breathing became uneven, "It was all my fault!"
"Arin, please calm down. You're kinda scaring me," he laughed nervously.
"I- I-" I stuttered, not able to form anything cohesive. I couldn't focus, I could barely breathe.
"Arin! Arin, deep breaths, please, deep breaths," I heard panic in Jon's voice.
I concentrated on that; his voice, and what he was telling me to do. Breathe. I felt myself becoming a bit more steady, and I knew then that I was okay, at least for now.
    "Jon?" I sniffled, "What happened?"
"Are you okay?" Jon asked urgently, "I thought I lost you there," I observed his face. He looked pale and shaky.
    "Lost me?" I questioned.
"Yeah," I saw him starting to laugh, and I got scared, "I'm sorry!" He pulled me into a tight hug, "Don't leave me again! I love you, buddy!"
"Jon?!" I felt so afraid. He was really freaking out.
"I-" he stopped completely for a second, then looked directly into my eyes, "I'm sorry," Jon muttered, "I'm so, so sorry."
"Are you okay?" I stared back at him, deeply concerned.
"I'm okay," he sighed, "I'm okay, what about you?"
"I'm okay if you're okay," I replied, snuggling into Jon.
"Alright," Jon held me close, and I peered up at him. I could've sworn I saw him blushing before I closed my eyes again, "I love you too fucking much," Jon whispered to me after a while. He kissed my head. I knew that he thought I was asleep.
"Jon?" I looked up, red as a rose, at Jon, who had a look of pure shock spread across his face, followed by sheer embarrassment.
