"Did you just-" I started, feeling my heart skipping beats. I couldn't form a sentence.
"I'm sorry!" Jon jumped right to apology, "I fucked up. Arin, I'm sorry."
"Jon, do you...?" I couldn't say the words.
"Arin, I'm sorry," Jon repeated like a broken record.
"Jon, calm down. Please," I begged. None of this was so terribly wrong or bad.
"I'm sorry. If you don't want to talk anymore, then that's-"
"Jon!" I cut him off, filled with disbelief at the words he was saying, "I haven't seen you in so long! I've missed you! I'm not just going to start hating you because you have a man crush on me!" I started to chuckle. This whole situation was unbelievable, almost hysterical to me.
"Arin," he beamed, "You really are the best person I've ever known," his tone then shifted, "and I'm sorry I put that friendship under pressure."
"It's okay! I wouldn't ever leave you," I assured him.
"That's really sweet," Jon sighed in relief.
"And," I continued, "I would love to go out with you," I beamed at him when I saw the look of happiness and shock spreading across his face.
"Come here!" Jon rushed over, pulling me into a tight hug, which I returned; it was very warm.
I made that decision on a whim, and wasn't quite sure if it was a good or bad choice. I kept quiet about that because Jon was really cheerful, and I didn't want to get in the way of his happiness, even if it meant dating him. Do I love him, I asked myself as we hugged. I don't know was the conclusion I reached.
Jon released the hug, and I spoke, "Soo, uh," I didn't know what to say. I felt my face turn pink, and I felt pressured to say something.
"Heheh," Jon laughed, avoiding looking me in the eye. This was awkward for the both of us.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" I started.
"Alright," Jon nodded, "What do you want to watch?"
"I don't really care," I shrugged, having nothing in mind aside from breaking the silence, "Do you want to choose?"
"Not really," he mumbled, glancing around swiftly before returning his gaze to me, "Do you really want to watch a movie?" Jon asked.
I laughed, "No," I responded honestly, "It's just- it's really awkward!"
"Yeah," Jon quickly agreed, "That it is. Hm... How about we go out to eat? It's about dinnertime."
"Good idea," I agreed. We stared at each other for a lot longer than we should've. I started to blush.
"Heh," Jon smiled, "I'm going to go get ready now," Jon attempted to walk away.
"Wait, where are we going?" I giggled at him.
"Oh, shit, I don't know," Jon admitted, and he started to laugh.
"You and me both," I grinned at Jon, hardly able to take this seriously anymore.
"I'll find somewhere," Jon pulled out his phone to search while I decided to get myself ready to go.
