The poem has three stanzas; a tercet, quatrain, and sestet. The first three lines (the opening tercet) are refrains.
The poem rhyme scheme is:

The English Madrigal as written by William Drummond (1585-1649) has at least six and up to fourteen lines containing either six or ten syllables. The first line always has six syllables.

Using the Chausey's Short English version:

RIDE OF LIFE

Contrast, excited my eyes and somehow knew;
attempted contact must be surely tried.
First seen aboard an escalator Ride.

The black of underwear not meant for view.
The rosie upper thighs that hide I spied.
Contrast excited my eyes and somehow knew;
attempted contact must be surely tried.

The greeting given grateful, strange but true.
I met my future wife that day with pride,
for evermore and walking side by side.
Contrast excited my eyes and somehow knew;
attempted contact must be surely tried.
First seen aboard an escalator Ride.

Comment without insults!
Words written often poetry results.
If only structure was so down to earth.
There's time to please review the words I wrote.
So come on tell it's worth!
Then colour star and vote.
