Caelen watched as the sea of men restrained Adrianna, as she screamed and cried, begging them to let her go to him.
Xander Jenks emerged above his head and two of his men hauled Cobra up, readying him for the dagger.
"Any last words?" The cruel man questioned as he cleaned the dagger on his dress pants.
"None but these." He spat at Xander's face, letting out a string of curse words.
He saw Adrianna's blonde hair in the crowd, so out of place from the sea of black.
"The girl?" Xander followed his gaze and smirked at her. "Bring her."
Adrianna was pushed to the front, the men laughing with glee.
"A first class seat." Xander grinned.
"Nothing happens to her!" Caelen demanded, struggling against the burly men restraining him.
"Of course not, we don't waste blood." Xander laughed.
"Then don't kill him!" Adrianna burst out all of a sudden, sobs wracking through her chest.
"Oh, my darling, his blood isn't wasted."
And he plunged the dagger into Caelen's stomach.
A scream rose in both their throats but only one came through. Only Adrianna's had life in it.
