Hey sorry about the long wait. My computer was being very bipolar. Anyway here's the new chapter.

Chapter 10-Jordan

It was movie night and it was also Christmas Eve. I thought the day would never end. I was exhausted and my ears were still numb from the cold. I hadn’t slept well the night before. Thoughts of Her kept creeping in. I’d been feeling bad all day. I couldn’t even distinguish what kind of bad it was and I had no idea why.

Rodney had been complaining to me all morning about how girls never know what they want and they were secretly sent up from Hell just to make our lives miserable. I thought he was just being a bit melodramatic. All day, when he wasn’t drooling over Amber, he’d try to find a way to attract her attention. It was exhausting to keep up with all the drama. I don’t know how girls do it all the time.

Right now, I was making hot chocolate. Holly was standing behind me, leaning on the island, waiting for the popcorn to finish popping in the microwave.

          “So, what’s up with you?”

          “What?”

“You’ve been acting weird all day,” Holly said. “What’s wrong?” She walked up to the counter where I was making my hot cocoa.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said. She leaned against the counter.

“Don’t play dumb with me,” she exclaimed and crossed her arms across her chest. “Tell me. Are you that upset about losing to Amber?”

          “What? No.”

          “Then what is it?”

          “I don’t know. I didn’t sleep well last night. Maybe that’s why.”

“Why?” Damn, this girl is persistent. I sighed.

          “I don’t know.”

“Ok….” She was silent for a couple seconds. “So, what’d you think of Owen?” Wow, complete subject change there.

“Why?” I knew I was avoiding her question, but I honestly did not know how to answer her.

“Just wondering. At first, I thought you liked him, but then you went all bipolar on me and I saw you glaring at him half the time. So,” she said after a moment. “What do you think?”

“Of Owen?” She nodded impatiently. “I guess you’re right. He’s not really you’re type.” She raised an eyebrow.

“Well there’s a shock,” she said sarcastically. The microwave beeped and Holly went to take the popcorn out. I chuckled.

          “Why?”

“You just never seem to like any of the guys I’ve dated. Why is that, Jordan?” She took out a bowl from one of the cabinets.

          “I don’t know,” I mumbled.

“You seem to not know a lot of things lately.” I sighed and turned around to find her putting in another bag of popcorn in the microwave.

“Look, I just think that you deserve better than guys like Owen. He’s the kind that once he sees something pretty, he wants it, until he sees some other pretty thing.”
