What the Romance Came to Be

Chapter 3 The Unfortunate Accident

Riley's P.O.V~

The next couple of days flew by really fast. I started getting closer to Alice and we became really good friends. She even introduced me to another friend named Niagara Roze. Niagara was a very intelligent and beautiful person who really loves romance. Although she wasn't really interested in boys herself, she really loved helping other people's romances blossom.

The project with Talon is going well. It we won't have enough time to work on it at school so he suggested that we go to his house after school to finish it. I had to agree to this because we had to finish the project. I was very nervous walking into his house because it was the first time I had ever been in a guy's house. I felt really awkward. Though that awkwardness got even worse because we had to work in his room because his family was home.

In the beginning, the project went smoothly but when we had to start our poster on Abraham Lincoln for why he was a good president. We were kind of running around all over the place trying to get the art supplies we needed from his desk when I accidentally tripped and fell on top of him. We both went tumbling down and I ended up pinned against him on the floor. Needless to say, I was blushing because of the embarrassment and he just looked a little awkward with a bit of happiness. I immediately got off of him and apologized but nothing would make either of us forget what just happened.

The rest of the project went on very awkwardly as both of us just had that scene stuck in our heads. After 2 hours, we finally finished our project and I left straight after so that I could text Alice and Niagara to get their advice on it.

The next day was pretty awkward for me but Talon on the other hand acted like nothing had happened. In fact, he acted so normal that it was getting kinda freaky. Once I met up with Niagara and Alice at our lockers, Niagara wouldn't stop talking about how Talon and I are couple goals, (whatever that means.) I had a feeling I was gonna get teased about this till she forgets about this event.

After a couple more weeks of me ignoring Talon and hanging out with Niagara and Alice it was the day before Halloween. Each year, our school had a Halloween dance so we decided that all three of us should go together dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters. Alice was well Alice, Niagara was the mad hatter, and I was the queen of hearts.

While I was getting ready for the dance, I got a call from an anonymous caller. I picked up and the first line I heard was "Are you from Tennessee? Cause you're the only ten I see." I hang up right after the person finishes the line. Then the same number calls 2 more times but I ignore it. Then I see that it's 6 so I tell my mom to drive me to the Halloween dance.
