Chapter 13

Brantley POV

Tonight's concert was great I knew that Isabella was there taking pictures and filming but I didn't always see her. I also know she left during One Hell of An Amen and I never felt her presence come back. I know it's strange but I can tell when she is around. It was a great concert to kick off this year long tour, the crowd was great and I was still riding the high of performing when someone asked if we wanted to write until we stopped to eat. I told them that it was a great idea.
As I get on the bus I see that Bells is in her bunk I stop and tell her what we had planned and that I was here if she needed to talk or just wanted to watch movies and eat junk food. She laughed and said she would take me up on that offer after we both finished working and I got a shower cause I smelled. So I pulled her out of the bunk and rubbed on her. She hit me and laughed and said she had to change now. I told her to use my bedroom since the front was full of guys. I jumped in the shower and as I was getting out I realized that I didn't grab my clothes. So I walk into my room with just a towel on and Bells is still there in her KC concert shirt and a pair of tight shorts. I look at her and grin and she said I see you still like the natural look BG. I laugh and said yeah I forgot to grab my clothes. She looks me over and said I will let you get dressed and I'm gonna get my cameras ready. I tell her she can stay I wasn't running her out and she just blushed. She walked out and I grabbed my boxer briefs and pair of Nike pants and a white tank top. I head out of the bedroom and Bells is already taking pictures and the guys are hamming it up for her. As I am fixing myself some sweet tea, Ben asked her who sent her roses. I listen close and she said," you can read the card I don't care"
Ben read it and said Junior that really tells me a lot. Isabella said put two and two together Ben, Junior and North Carolina? I look at her and say Dale Jr? Isabella said"we have a winner" Justin looks at her and said "24 right Hells Bells?" She grins but there is sadness in her smile and she said"yeah just like always and I text him and told him I would definitely come hang with him and Amy"
Ben said," okay you know Dale Jr and he sends you roses and apparently more than once"
Isabella explains," we are childhood friends our families knew each other and he sends me 24 roses every first day of any tour I am on because he said it is something my brother would have done if he were still alive." I see this is something she really isn't wanting to share with everyone so I ask if anyone had song ideas. I sit in my recliner and pick up my guitar and just start playing different cords and riffs. Ben takes my lead and starts throwing words out there and ideas and then Justin takes offand it gets a little silly but I see Isabella laughing and I know it is what she needed.
  Earl tells us that we are about to stop at Waffle House. The guys cheer and say they are starving. Bells goes to her bunk and grabs a pair of Alabama sweatpants and slips her shoes on and looks around and I ask her what she is looking for she said my sweatshirt and I throw her one of my deer farmer sweatshirts and she pulls it on and said it's always cold to me in Waffle House and I can get away with shorts on here but not outside yet. I grin and tell her I know what she means and grab my Bulldogs sweatshirt. We follow the guys off the bus and she is taking pictures and having fun with my band.
We go in and find booths and tables and basically take over this Waffle House and of course they have a jukebox and Isabella goes and plays music. So I'm curious to see what she plays tonight. I know it's only been a couple of days but you can tell what she is feeling by her choice of music. Ben walks over and watches her choices and grins. Ready Set Roll by Chase Rice comes on and they make their way back to the booth and Ben is acting all goofy singing the done then it slows down to Garth Brooks The Dance. We all get our food and it is quiet when I drive your truck by Lee Brice comes on. Justin looks up at me with concern when Drink a Beer comes on, I can tell that her heart is heavy tonight just by listening to this songs when out of the blue Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard starts playing. Justin laughs and looks at Isabella and she's grinning from ear to ear. He shakes his head and said"you got me that night" and goes on to explain how he was singing that song and Isabella told him to stop cause he was drunk and would regret it and he didn't so she literally poured sugar on him so he would get out of her face. We all laughed and decided it was time to roll out. Everyone went back to their own buses since it was 4 am and we would roll into another town and another show in a few hours and have sound check at 3pm. I was lucky I didn't have any interviews tomorrow morning or I guess I should say this morning.
