John's Point of view.

Few hours passed.

I made friends with the little devil. She was so adorable I could just eat her up. She resembled her father more and talks a lot just like her father. They were quite friendly and Mark just kept telling me not to be so shy and awkward so I tried my best to engage in the conversations. I easily made friends with the kid though.

"John, take me, take me" the little devil came up to me and said pointing towards the ocean while the "Adults" were seated in a circle engaged in a conversation about god knows what.

"I don't know how to swim, honey" I said making a dumb puppy face. Things you do to talk to little kids.

"But Anna wants to go" she said with her eyes welling up a bit.

"Aww, no, don't cry. You can go with your uncle."

And she did.

She immediately ran over to him and convinced him to take her to the beach, and Mark being the sweet guy he is, didn't refuse. She really is a little devil.

Later, they all joined the both of them besides me. I just sat there looking at them, laughing and enjoying. Such a small happy family.

Mark's sister was all he had. I got to know from Mark that their Mum died when mark was about 10 years old, and his sister was only 16 at that time. Their father was never around and they didn't even know him. Well, at least Mark didn't from what I knew. She spent all her time taking care of both of them without complain. I can't imagine what it must be like losing both parents at such a young age.

I snapped out of my thoughts when someone tapped my shoulders. You can guess who it was? Yeah, it was him. I didn't even realize he got out of the water.

"Let's go?" He asked.

"Let's go where?"

"I told you, you are going to learn how to swim today"

"I told you, I am not"

With that he held me by the hand and just dragged me into the water without a warning. I don't think I have ever screamed that loud in my life. Everyone's eyes were on me, laughing and pointing fingers at me.

"Would you just stop wiggling around and calm down? It's not that deep and I'm right here I won't let you drown, trust me." He was a strong man and I couldn't break free. He still had a tight grip on my wrist.

"Okay, okay"

He let me go, laughing.

Mark's Point of View

John was just really stubborn. The second I let go of him he ran. I mean he tried to run, but he couldn't. I got a hold of him before he could. Trying to teach him how to swim was not an easy job. I had to constantly assure him that I was right there by his side and not going anywhere. All the debris in the water didn't help either. He was completely sure that every single time that something touches his feet it was a shark. I have heard him say shark and panic more times that I have ever heard him speak actual words.

I eventually gave up. It was not an easy job to do and you cannot learn how to swim in a day. He did learn how to float on water though so I guess that's a start.

We ended up joining the kid and fooling around for a while. Splashing and jumping around the water.

**

The day had almost come to an end. I could see the sky getting darker by the minute. We all just decided to sit and watch the sun set. I still remember that day like yesterday. Almost everyone had left. There was hardly anyone visible besides the five of us. Hayley got up saying she had to pack things, Anna and Peter followed.
It was just me and John sitting next to each other. No words spoken. Just enjoying the sunset.

It was quiet and peaceful. The only sound that came was the salty lips of waves kissing the sand roughly. The smell of salt and sand mixed together I could almost taste it. The fresh breeze caressing my face. I could sit here all day. You could see all the colors of the rainbow reflecting off the sea as the sun and water becomes one. It was like heaven on earth.

John was sitting beside me silently looking at the water and peacefully enjoying the view. I don't know how long I kept staring at the side of his face.

The shades of sunlight hitting his face.

It was magical.

He turned towards me and asked me why I kept staring at him with his manly, yet cute voice. All I could come up with was "I don't know". I genuinely didn't know. He just gave me a shy smile and turned the other way staring at the sunset as he was before.

As he turned I noticed that he had a little bit of sand on his lower lip. I called him and he turned towards me.

"You have sand on your lips"

"Where?"

"Let me get that for you" I said

I gently brushed my thumb across his lips. His eyelashes swept across his cheeks as he slowly closed his eyes.

He jumped back a bit and his eyes opened just as fast.

Maybe weirded out by my actions.

But he didn't say anything.

He just thanked me and gave me a weak shy smile.

**

I dropped him off at home. We didn't speak much. It was unusual, but I didn't say anything and neither did he.

We were both just too tired.

We got to his place and he got off the bike. Thanked me like he always do after I drop him home after work sometimes. I was about to go when he called my name.

I had fun today. Thanks for making me do it and went in before I could say anything.

I drove off smiling like an idiot.

There you go! I know there isn't much happening, but I want to take things slow. I don't want to rush into things because I plan to make this story a bit lengthy. I know that most of you guys don't even read the A/N, but I had to write it anyway.

Thanks for reading.
