I am so sorry for the late update. I have had shitty internet and been extremely busy with, well, life. Anyhoe, i don't think you guys want any more excuses (tho they aren't) so here it is! I kept my promise. It's 17th September.
*continued from the last chapter*
After we got there I thanked him for the ride and went straight to work.
I always have very little to do. Most days I just sit there and read something off of some social networking site. It was an easy job, boring, but easy. I had taken the job a week after writing my A' level exams. I had little to no time for holidays or for fun. No complaints though. It had a good pay and I get to spend most of the time relaxing. The job was easy. Life was easy.
Who knew how complicated life was about to get.
I had only few hours left to go when I heard a knocked on the cabin door. I shared a cabin with two other co-workers who rarely ever showed up to work. Damn these IT people. Their job was so much easier than mine. "Come in" I responded to the knock.
Guess who it was? None other than Mark Woods.
Mark: "Busy?"
"Not really, what's up?"
"Nothing, I'm already done with work so just moving around socializing a bit. So, when do you finish?" he said while taking a seat in front of me.
"umm... in about two hours or so. I finish at five .. ish. Why?" I said looking at my wristwatch.
"Are you going straight home after work? If so wanna go grab a coffee or something on the way home? We're both taking the same route home anyway so I can drop you off?"
"Yeah, sure I don't see why not" I said with a smile.
"Okay, great. Here's my number just send me a text when you're done and we'll go together?" he said handing me a piece of paper.
"Yeah, sure."
"Cool. See you in a bit" and walked out the door.
Why was he being so nice to me? People these days aren't this nice. Who cares? I'll get a free ride home and someone to accompany with. I won't get bored now. Not that I'm ever bored. I have my partner AKA my book with me.

The two hours went by without me even noticing. I grabbed my bag and quickly sent Mark a text before I headed out to the elevator.
I stood in front of the elevator door waiting for it to open. 4... 5... 6... I kept counting as it came up when someone tapped my shoulder again like the last time. I turned around to see none other than Mark Woods standing behind me with his teethy bright smile. He could star in one of those toothpaste commercials.
"Is this your thing or what?" I asked tapping his shoulder like he did mine, jokingly, as we both stepped into the elevator.
"mhm yeah, that's my thing"
"I figured" I said in a sarcastic way
"How did you even get here so fast, aren't you like three floors up?"
"I took the stairs. I hate waiting"
"But you waited like two hours for me to finish"
"Well, that's different. Going home alone is no fun now, is it?"
"My thoughts exactly" not that I needed anyone to accompany me with. I'm fine being on my own. Always have been, but it was nice.

We stopped by a café on our way to the ferry terminal to grab a coffee. Where I come from coffee is everything. Going out with friends? Coffee. Trying to make new friends? Coffee. After a long day? Coffee. Nervous? Coffee. Going out on a date? Pizza and Coffee. The last one might be a lie but still coffee was involved coffee in almost everything in our daily lives.
We talked about almost everything. We were like two old best friends catching up after years of being away from each other with no connection whatsoever. He was easy to talk to. Something about him that makes me just want to tell him everything(not that i had much to tell him about my boring life anyway). It was weird, but i never really thought about it.
Days passed by and Mark had become a part of my daily life. Sometimes we even walked home together since we lived very close by.
Now don't get any ideas. He was just a friend.
Yeah, that's what he was.
Just a friend.
I have the next update coming up in a few daayyss. <<< Notice the doubles, that's cause it might take a few. NOT LIKE LAST TIME THO. It won't be long i promise. I meant as in days not the chapter because i know the chapters are actually really short. I actually just realised that.I am new okay? I promise i will make the next one longer. I always keep my promises.
