I've always had a rough life

No parents

No friends

No family

No love

My life was nothing

I was nothing

While running an errand

I ran into him

Emerald green eyes

Jet black hair

1000 watt smile

Pearly white teeth

Perfection

He was so beautiful

I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him

He looked memorized by me

Me

He asked me out on a date

I refused

I couldn't risk feeling more pain

I've already had my fair share

That day, I broke him

I walked away without a glance

A week later, I saw him again

He was at the coffee shop

He offered me a seat, and, cautiously, I took it

I'm still not sure why I did

But I don't regret it

We ate croissants and delicious coffee

While he flirted as I attempted to flirt back

My first-ever date

And it was with him

Months went by

He was my world

He spoke three words I longed to hear my entire life

'I love you.'

Three magical words

He spoke them to me as we made love

I was in love

And I wasn't broken

I was happy and whole

He brought out a ring

Three years later, I had a life

Two little girls and him

I had a life

I had a family

And I had love
