"Welcome to Angela's Coffee Club! May I have your order?" I force a smile, excited to get my shift done in an hour. As the lady places her order, I feel a swift gush of Canadian air rush through the decorative building. My eyes wander to the opened door.
"Hello?" The lady in front of me impatiently snarks, waving a slick, moisturised hand in front of my face.
"I'm sorry, can you please repeat your order?" I sheepishly smile. She scoffs but orders and I eventually write it down. "Thank you, your order will be given to you soon." I smile, for the thousandth time today.
As she walks away, I inwardly sigh. Another customer gently taps the counter in attempt to get my attention.
"Hello?" An Australian accent brings me back from wherever my mind wondered off to. My eyes snap to the face and my eyes slightly widen.
My eyes travel along all his features. From his scruffy dark hair, dark brown piercing eyes, freckles scattered throughout his stressed face.
My eyes then travel downwards, trailing along his body. His white shirt clinging to his body, black jeans lazily thrown on. His body screams 'touch me' which instantly grabs my attention. Judging by his abs faintly showing through his white shirt, he probably works on his body a lot.
I hear a small chuckle and I immediately blush. I was caught checking a customer out.
"Welcome to Angela's Coffee Club. May I please have your order?" The sentence forced and he chuckles again.
"Had fun?" He playfully smiles. I blush again, feeling the heat rush to my cheeks. I bite the inside of my cheeks, a habit of mine when I get anxious or embarrassed.
"Genevieve." The way my name rolls off his tongue finally gets me to appreciate my name for the first them. It's... Soothing in a way. I love it.
"How do you know my name?" I ask. He points to the little pin in my black apron and I laugh.
"Oh," I start, smiling. "May I ask what your name is?"
"Bob." He smiles back. Bob, lovely.
"Well Bob. Are you ready to order?" I ask.
As I write down his order, his eyes shift from my face to his watch. He sighs and reverts his eyes back to me.
"How long will my coffee take?" He quickly asks.
"Uh, about 3 minutes?" I reply, a little taken aback by his sudden change in mood.
"Okay, I'm just going to go get something." He quickly smiles and runs out the door.
Hmm. Weird.
The lady I served before scolded me as she walked out with her coffee. I laugh shortly before the familiar attractive man walks through the door.
"Just in time." I smile as I hand him his coffee.
"Thank you." He politely smiles. As he grabs his coffee from my hand, his other hand places a small ripped paper on the counter. He smiles one last time before he leaves.
I open the paper and grin widely at the message.
"Thank you for the small conversation and coffee. I would like to talk to you more :)
