TM: Honey I have to go now

My mum hugged me, kissed my cheek, and headed to the door.

T: It's okay mum, I'll call you!

TM: Have fun!
Bye!

And that was it. My dad already had to go a few days ago, my mum was gone now, I could've stayed all by my own in the house. I mean..they were gone, but actually I didn't even want to be alone. My I grabbed suitcase, and glanced around my room one more time. If I would need something I can always come here and get it so...
I just left. Crossed the street.
But suddenly Ashley came around the corner, right from their backyard, with a little, maybe four year old boy, trying to climb up on her. She waved me, smiling, but obviously desperate.

A: Toby look, that's Troian. You gotta be nice to her alright? Cause she's gonna stay with us. And if you even dare to grab her foot, as you always do, she will..eat you.

Ashley started to tickle him, and the boy rolled on the grass, laughing. Then she mouthed a 'help'.

A: Okay look, you can play inside, Troian and I have to do some things. You'll be a good boy, right?

To: Always!

His smile was like a little devil, but he was so cute.

A: Come on girl.. run!

To: Hey I heard that!

A: Go and torture uncle-Keegan

We sat on Ashleys bed, my suitcase half unpacked.

A: He's the son of my mother's best friend, and she had some problems..so my mum stays with her for some time. And Toby will stay with us..
We have him around our neck, but we have the house all to ourself. Well and Keegan.

T: That's cool I guess...we can have fun, we don't have to stand his company all time it's like..I mean..he's not always around..huh?

My hands were sweating, and Ash recognized my expression, cause my feelings were all obvious right now.
She sat down beside me and laid one arm aroud me.

A: Listen I know this is hard. And he was such a son of a bitch, w.. well that was mean to myself but let's pretend were not related you know what i mean.

I had to smile a little. She is so silly.. sometimes I think she just pretends, because the way she thinks about things is so philosophic, but then she says something like 'do you think sheep count humans when they can't get to sleep?' and I'm just..no. It's probably just her own smartass way.

A: So I have to ask you. Why would all this touch you so much, if you wouldn't care anymore..
so andwer honest. Do you still love him..?

She looked so deep into my eyes, I was totally in trance, just before answering the question, when suddelny the door opended.
