What's in it for me?," I asked interrupting him for the 2nd time.

"Knowing that you helped someone out?" he tried.

"I've got a better idea...,"

Chapter 1

"Let me get this straight, you want me, Damien Fields to help you get Gabriel?" he said a smirk growing on his perfect face.

"Please?!" I replied. It was the perfect opportunity. He and Gabriel are practically best friends and if he tells Gabriel about me, then maybe he might notice me more. Win-win situation, right?

Wrong.

"What makes you think that I would help you?"

"Knowing that you helped someone out-" I tried before being rudely interrupted.

"Not gonna happen"

"Or,"I carried on giving him a dirty look, "Or you can sleep in my room tonight," I said matter-of-factly. I smirk watching the frown grow on his face.

"What makes you think I'm going to keep my promise?"

I took out my phone and quickly took a picture of him. He squinted his eyes as the camera flash hit him.

"What's wrong with you?" He asked annoyed.

"Now I know you'll keep my promise."

He looked defeated as I stood there smirking. Jordan: 1 , Damien: 0.

"Fine! But you have to follow my rules. I'm the boss, you're the apprentice, I'm the dog, you're the cat, I'm the shark and you're the goldfish. Understood?"

"Shark and goldfish, seriously? Is that the best you could come up with?"

"Hey, I was under pressure!" he attempted to mask his big grin with an annoyed look but failed - miserably.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night!"

He is so cute when he tries to look cool. I don't know why I didn't notice before. Wait, hold up - this is Damien you're talking about. Damien. Does player ring a bell? I crept out of my room and went to the utility room, trying not to wake up my parents or my brother. I can't believe I might actually be friends -or more than friends- with chase. I smiled to myself as I returned with a blanket and pillow.

"Your sleeping on the floor", I said sternly.

"Why, is it because you won't be able to keep your hands to yourself?"

I rolled my eyes. He is so full of himself. I turned off my lights and lay down in bed.

"Night" he yawned.
"Goodnight" I replied.

I stared at the ceiling wondering what was going to happen next. Tomorrow was school and was officially the start of Mission Gabriel. Imaginative, I know. "New day, new start" I thought as I drifted of to sleep...

"Buzzzzz"
I woke up to my annoying alarm. I groaned as I reached to turn it off but somebody's hand was already on it. Slowly, yesterday nights memories came flooding back.

"Morning, pumpkin" a voice said sarcastically.

"What are you still doing here? My parents will kill you."

"Your not getting rid of me that easy. If you want me to go, delete that photo." He replied challengingly.

"I'm not even exaggerating, my dad's got a shotgun in the cupboard."

Just then, I heard a knock on the door. "Sweetie, are you awake?" my mom called through the door.

"Hide," I whisper-yelled.

He quickly dived under my bed just as my mother walked in.

"Is everything alright in there? I heard some disturbing noises," she asked curiously.

"Everything's fine, you know me , always bumping into things," I lied.

By the look on her face, I could tell she didn't believe me but she didn't pry. It made sense seeing I was a walking disaster.

"Okay Jordan, if you say so. Breakfast will be ready in half an hour," she said still not believing me before scanning the room and closing the door as she left.

"That was close," I said as I finally breathed again, " You need to get out of here, now".

"Not until you delete the photo, sweetheart," he replied.

"Are you telling me that your willing to get shot because of a photo," I asked surprised.

"Look here, I haven't got time to play games. If you want to get Gabriel get him yourself. I'm not going to do any of your dirty work," he said, clearly annoyed.

"Fine," I replied, "Just leave please.

He climbed out of my room easily. It was on the ground floor after all. "I guess, I'll just have to get Gabriel another way," I thought to myself. It isn't exactly easy if your considered invisible and a social outcast. Luckily, I had my best friend, Sabrina to rely on. She's always been there for me, even in my darkest times.

I walked to the bathroom, to take a shower. I loved how the water rushed against my skin. It made my forget all my worries. I got out of the shower 10 minutes later. I quickly dried my hair and put on my clothes. I threw on a charcoal hoodie and some red yoga pants. I then put on my glasses and headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Morning everyone," I said.

"Morning sweetheart," my dad said.

My brother Jason grunted in reply. He wasn't much of a morning person either. Our parents didn't pass on that gene to us but today I was unusually chirpy.

My mom made us pancakes drizzled in syrup. I love my mom's pancakes. I dived into my stack of pancakes; the feeling was orgasmic. I could tell today was going to be a good day.

Boy, I was wrong!
