Tyler presses the snooze button on his alarm clock, sitting up and yawning while rubbing his tired chocolate brown eyes. "Tyler!" his mom yelled from outside his door. The 17 year old rises from his bed and opens his door, yawning in response. "Okay, good. Stay up, sweety. I don't want you to be late for your first day of school!" she says cheerfully, hugging him. "Yeah... New school, mom. First day of being a new student. Again!" he groans, stumbling into his hallway bathroom. "Aw, honey. Please don't be so upset. I swear we'll stay here." his mom replies, leaning against the door frame of the dim lit bathroom. "Yeah, you always say that. But we never stay. I never have time to actually make friends." Tyler says ignorantly, spurting toothpaste onto his toothbrush. His mom sighs and shakes her head. "Well, I'm leaving for work, Tyler. I need you to stay up, okay?" Kelly kisses him on the cheek and begins to walk down the hallway.

Couple Hours Later

Tyler sits on the couch, staring into nothingness. You won't make any friends he says. A dark figure stood in the middle of the room. "Go away. I don't have time for you, Blu---" Tyler stops himself, "You" he says. Oh come on he exclaims You know you want to say it. His raspy voice fills Tyler's eardrums, causing him to squeeze his eyes shut and grab his head. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!!!" Tyler yells. He's startled by his phone ringing beside him. It's another alarm for him to leave for the bus stop. He wasn't even out of his pajamas. "Crap!" he sprints into his room and changes into a black hoodie and some tight blue jeans with red converse. Grabbing his light, empty backpack, he runs out of the door, phone in hand. "Crap, the bus will be here any minute!!" he tells himself.
Tyler arrives at the bus stop and sees the bus beginning to leave. "WAIT!" he yells at the bus, running after it. "Wait, I'm coming!" Tyler bellows again. The bus stops with a halt, opening it's two doors. Tyler walks inside of the bus and looks around for an empty seat. He walks to the very back and sits down by the window, looking out at the houses lined up by each other. "He's right," Tyler whispers to himself, resting his head on the seat "I won't make any friends." Closing his eyes, he sighs.
"Who's right?" Tyler hears a voice on the left side of him, jumping in surprise. He looks over at the person next to him. He had light red hair and brown eyes just like Tyler. Except for the hair. Tyler had brown hair. "N-no one." Tyler answers shyly. "You sure? You seem really stressed out. And... new?" the red haired man said, smiling slightly. Tyler shrugs and rubs his neck, "Yeah... This is my 3rd school in the past 2 years." he answers, looking down in embarrassment. "Wow," the red head says, "That must be rough. Anyway, I'm Joshua. Joshua Dun. Just call me Josh. If you want, I can show you around the school?" Tyler looks at him, eyes filled with hope. "If you could, that would be amazing." Tyler answers a bit too loudly. "Oh, and I'm Tyler Joseph." Tyler adds, a smile spreading across his face. "Nice to meet you, Tyler" Josh says, putting his hand out. Tyler grabs Josh's hand firmly and shakes it, "Nice to meet you too, Josh." Tyler answers softly.

At School

Tyler looks around the big school with Josh beside him, also looking around as if he was new also. "Wow" Tyler stutters, rubbing his arm. "This school is HUGE." Tyler's breath hitches while he looks around. The smaller boy feels a grip on his hand and he looks down to find Josh gripping his hand. "It'll be okay. I know this place like the back of my hand" Josh exclaims, intertwining their fingers. The brunette blushes, looking up at the slightly taller man, smiling nervously, not pulling away from the surprising action.

Skip the school day cause why not

At the end of the day, Tyler was stuffing his books into his book bag when Josh came up behind him and crouched beside him. "Hey, Ty." Josh said, smiling. Tyler looks up in a startled motion but just smiles, realizing it's Josh. "Oh, hey.. Um" Tyler was embarrassed. He already forgot his new acquaintance's name. God, he felt incredibly dumb. He started thinking about all of the ways his friend could react to that. "It's Josh." Josh says calmly, chuckling. Tyler's face turns a dark red as he zips his backpack and stands up, throwing it onto his back. "I-I'm really sorry, Josh. I'm horrible with names.." Tyler says shyly, threading his fingers through his hair. "It's okay" Josh exclaims, grabbing Tyler's hand as he did in the morning. "No need to be ashamed" Josh chuckled.
