A now very determined dragon charged through the caves trying to find the breeze and maybe even pets smell but all he could make out was darkness and the smell of a long gone fire. Crusher paused as his empty stomach made it clear that he needed something to eat. Instinct took over as he pressed himself against the wall and slowed his breathing. Not long after, his ears swiveled towards the sound of scurrying from a pair of mice somewhere in the long dark tunnel. Slowly, he crept toward the sound. As if by magic, he immediately spotted the mice scurrying across the path in front of him. Pouncing, he killed the mice with one swift blow. Two mice wouldn't be enough to fill the gigantic dragon's stomach, but the two tiny morsels would have to do.~ ~ ~
As the guards took the helpless dinosaur to the queen, Pet started to loose hope that he would be able to get free. With one last swing of his claw he managed to hit something, then the chains only got tighter and a sharp pain ran through his back leg as if someone had sliced it back. Not even a shout or any sign of pain from the guards. He knew at this point he might as well go along and find out what they were doing with him. They made him walk blindly for what seemed like forever, probably just having there fun with him making him walk around in a circle. Soon a bright light blinded the poor prisoner as the queen slowly came into view.
"We found' im under the new mountain, specifically Moon Talon mountain." The shortest guard quickly said, and then as if he weighed nothing at all, he raised into the air as the queen shouted at him saying things like
"Did i ask you to speak? Who told you to bring him to me, why not with the others where you always do!" she flung the armored man all around the room until everyone was sure his inside were scrambled.~ ~ ~
Crusher sat there, wondering in the middle of a dark, dank cave for a moment. If I were Pet, he thought, where would I go? His mind was drawing blanks. He couldn't imagine where the scaly thorn in his side would have gone in the middle of the night. Sniffing, he tried to make out the scent of the little rascal. The determined dragon picked up his smell, along with two sinister-smelling scents. He snarled at the thought of the owners of the two very familiar scents.
They're the reason this whole war is happening. Pet and I were perfectly fine underneath this mountain. I was perfectly comfortable waiting out the war here, but no. They had to come around and break the peace. Crusher harshly thought. The towering dragon sniffed around for the scent of his companion and his captors until he found it again. Quietly and cautiously, he proceeded down the tunnel, sniffing every few steps.
Suddenly, he crashed into something hard and cold. Bouncing back, he fell and rubbed his head as a small growl escaped his lips. Crusher looked up to see an empty tunnel. Confused, he tried to take another step forward, but bumped into something invisible. He put his hand up to the invisible wall, and sure enough, it stopped as if it was touching something.
"There must be a button or something around here," Crusher muttered to himself, feeling the walls and floor around the invisible obstruction. He noticed an out of place stone on the floor, and slammed his talon down onto it, but the stone brought nothing but pain.
After awhile of searching for another switch, he began to run vigorously into the wall trying to break it down, soon his wing began to hurt he stretched it out and the tip of ir hit something on the ceiling and few clicks later... nothing happened. He saw a light flash behind the force keeping him away. If there was one thing that motivated him, forgetting about Pet, was treasure he loved jewels and his dragon instinct came in and he reached his claw up and up and up and he began to fly only a few inches because of his massive size but he could reach the top there was a fine space above the area of the "wall" with a large crack in it. He gave one big flap with his wings and slammed up against it, as the crack grew slightly bigger each slam he started to think. What would happen when it falls, will it fall on him? Kill him, even?
Then the shiny thing caught his eye once again and he kept going. His motivation kept going back and forth find a way out, get Pet, Treasure.
After About an hour of hopelessly ramming into the sturdy cave wall the crack grew big enough for about a leg to stick through. He started banging on the ceiling with his tail, now that his body and wings hurt like his scales were being put into lava and they got all tingly. Then he heard rocks dropping, he quickly moved away as the ceiling began to crumble, and crumble. Crusher cept backing up further and further and the ceiling kept falling. Soon he was backed up agent the cold wet wall waiting to be crushed as he caught a bit of sunlight coming through the dust and boulders. He jumped into action and jumped on the falling rocks and went closer to where the light was, he went further into the falling rocks and knew he had to be careful.
Pebbles and smaller rocks were hitting him everywhere, and that's when he felt the searing pain of a large boulder falling and crushing his wing. That was it, he was done, there would be no way out. Even if he did make it out he has no way of flying, and walking never got him as far as he would have liked.~ ~ ~
The rocks were slowing down, and all he could see was the blinding light of the sun. Memories flashed back like the lighting from the storm only a few hours ago. He remembered being happy when he was just a hatchling, and he had nothing to worry about, and the memories of finding his future love and having a beautiful baby girl. He knew it, he was seeing his life before his eyes before it came to an end. Crusher knew he would never find Pet, he would never find his family, and for some reason in the back of his mind, he remembered the pain he was in with the rock slowly crushing his wing. As the dragon sat there, he felt his wing go numb, and then tingly with pins and needles. A few big birds flew down to see what had happened to the mountain.
Only at the moment they settled down did Crusher really look around and see the damage he had done, trees were scattered and animals were running frantic as they tried to find each other in this mess. Soon he could smell fresh blood in the air, he knew right away it was coming from his wing. Crusher had to get out, calling for help he made the few birds fly away. As the last bird flew off, he noticed a silver ring around its talon. The last things he saw were a few colored dot flying towards him as he drifted off into a far away land.~ ~ ~
A few soaring soldiers passed overhead sent by the dragon queen to see if the sudden rumors were true, and they were, her golden caves were destroyed. She could only think of one truly evil person who could have done that...
The putrid scent of fresh blood filled the air around the cave-in. One by one, the soldiers slowed their flapping as they noticed the unwelcomed aroma. They looked at each other with confusion, until one broke the silence.
"We should probably see where that smell is coming from. I-It could be a wounded dragon!" one smaller soldier said, adjusting her golden helmet.
"What if it's just some deer, or a moose?" an obviously older and more muscular dragon replied a bit sarcastically.
"We could always use the extra energy, Mirsoth." the biggest soldier shot back. They bickered about the subject until Mirsoth gave in and flew down with the others to investigate. As they neared the wreckage, the three soldiers could make out the outline of a bright yellow and red dragon, lying down, seemingly with only one wing. Once they flew even closer, they realized that the one-winged dragon actually had two wings, and the missing one was crushed under a boulder.
The smaller soldier gasped and darted toward the boulder.
"Cynder!" Mirsoth shouted. Cynder ignored her brother and pushed at the boulder, but she had no luck. It didn't budge.
"Mirsoth! Paranoth! Help me move this!" She shouted, pushing as hard as she could. Paranoth couldn't stand seeing her sister hurt herself trying to save a stranger that could even be dead. She flew over next to her younger sister, and gave a shove. The boulder moved almost an inch more. It was gonna take much more force to move that big bother. Mirsoth sighed, armor clinking as he flapped over. The three pushed and pushed and pushed, and slowly but surely, the boulder was inching off of the victim's wing.
The small creature tried again and started talking to Crusher. Bits of the conversation got through to him in his coma like state.
"ok...don't...rry..CYNDER..... Plea....ok.......elp.." time lapsed for the trapped dragon it seemed like a few minutes after he passed out. It had been hours. The smallest dragon was pouring water on his face to get him up, the older dragons were pushing the bowlder trying to get it off his wing.
More of the conversations came through "push..get..please...up..get it...wing...hurry..water" they moved the bolder a bit and the searing pain woke up Crusher. His scream could be heard for miles, echoing on the nearby mountains. More red was coming from under the rock as everything once again got blurry and dark.
The dragons sent the smallest to get others and the strongest rope.
"He's losing too much blood, i knew this was a bad idea" Mirsoth scowled "now we'll be in trouble for letting another die! We already have two reported deaths this week, the queen is mad and Cinder won't get back in time" his name was starting to get worried. "With my dad... i'll be in the most trouble!" he started to pace around.
"SHUT UP! I know he'll be fine, Mirsoth... you didn't need to bring dad into this, i'm his daughter too so don't play pity with me" Paranoth's voice trailed off as her brother came over to her and wrapped his wings around her and told her it would be ok and he was sorry. The rubble began to shake once again as chaos grew. The two siblings turned their immediate attention to the dragon still stuck under the rock.
