One Shot at Destiny

There would come a time 

when you and your destiny's road will entwine. 

When heaven will give you all the signs

When all the songs will seem to rhyme. 

You'll look at her like she was made of magic 

and you'll never imagine anything tragic. 

She'll look at you and see right through, 

uncover things about you that you never knew. 

You'll fall high and you'll fall hard.

Clueless like playing cards. 

She'll be your first though in the morning

and the last face you wished to see in the evening. 

Everything will fall back in it's right place

every timing, every moment will be on the right phase. 

And you'll ask what would probably gone wrong, 

when everything seems so steady and strong. 

And everyday she'll be on your side 

like she was never never getting tired. 

But unlike her you do, 

and you wanted something new. 

You wonder what it feels like to be in  another arms,

or how will it feels staring at different pair of eyes.

You wonder if another can give you warmth

while you tell her promises made of lies. 

You were young, you were curious and you left.

You left no trail like a thief.

You shattered her dreams and left her nothing

other than hopes that are one by one falling. 

You were free, brand new and happy

everything is great as it could be. 

Things and people are unfamiliar 

everything you see is peculiar. 

You have a new love, a new kind of panic

you feel a different  kind of madness

so intense to the point of sadness. 

You want to capture the so called 'magic'.

But alas! it didn't come. 

There are no warmth, just sparks. 

There are no magics just tricks 

and you realize it was lonely at the peak. 

Now you have never been too sure,

that she was the missing piece and the cure 

she was the one you threw and let go, 

only to find out she's the one that you're looking for. 

But time had passed and things changed. 

Love, patience and memories fade. 

You look at her and she still stares at you like you're made of magic. 

And you realize you're a just a dumb who played tricks. 

You're looking at someone who's already yours once, 

Tears fell and you now knew she was always the one. 

But there's are things you can't undone. 

And she's now far gone. 

You now knew that you let go of your destiny go. 

And there's nothing you can do

She wont be the one like she used to 

Coz you let her go, and so she did too. 

So watch her smile to someone else. 

Look at her while she gives another man bear hugs and shy kisses.

Remember and savor the 'what ifs' and 'could have been'

and remind yourself why it didn't happen. 

And you wish you can turn back time

to the time you can still call her 'mine'

to the time when universe agrees and everything is easy,

but you can't coz you only got one shot at destiny.
