Moon the Hedgehog : The Origins

The next day was dark and gloomy, the clouds were heavy with rain. The weather forecast said that there was a chance of thunder and lightning as well.

While Moon was still asleep, Shard and the team were all gathered at Tails' workshop to discuss about how they were going to trigger Moon's powers. The ice on the wall was half melted.

"I have a theory" Tails said "Since Shards powers showed when she was surprised, maybe if we surprise Moon then her powers will show. It may not work but I'll give it a try."

Shard challenged Tails. "But Moon.... well she's Moon. She's always on the edge, she'll see you coming from a mile away."

Sonic thought of an idea "I'll distract her while you guys figure something out. Wait I got it. Last night."

Shard laughed "I wonder what you were doing last night"

"Last night I crept up on Moon and scared her by shocking her while she was half asleep. When she opened her eyes I screamed in her face, but obviously I can't scare her again like that however, if we add a few different factors then I think this might work."

"Go on I'm listening"

Sonic continued, "So what's Moon's biggest fear?"

".....I don't know"

"Shadow the Hedgehog, so if we can use Tails' object changing machine we can temporarily turn me into shadow."

"But what about your voice?"

"We can use Tails' voice changer. I know, Tails has invented almost everything."

Shard liked what Sonic was thinking, maybe they could trigger Moon's powers and finally be able to stop Shadow. They decided they would put the action on tonight when Moon and Sonic go to bed. Then Sonic will use the Object Changer and the Voice Changer to transform into Shadow.

When the time came, after Moon and Sonic had got in bed, the blue hedgehog snook out of bed to check if Moon was awake. He leaned over her body and listened carefully. She was lightly snoring under the covers so he assumed she was asleep.  Sonic quietly tip toed out of the shack to where tails and Shardwere waiting.

"All set?" Tails asked

Sonic gave him a thumbs up. Tails turned his machine on.

"Right let me just go into my model database and find shadow. Then I'll scan you in and let the machine do it's work."

A blue ray of light scanned Sonic up and down. Suddenly Sonic began to transform into shadow. First his legs then body then his face until he was complete. He felt a sense of power rush through his body. He had the power to potentially make Moon do whatever he wanted. Using her fears against her, Sonic knew that Moon was a powerful Hedgehog with incredible determination. He was going to have to play the role of Shadow very well if he wanted to get to her.

"Cool" He whispered.

"Sonic" tails whispered "it will only last 5 minutes so you need to hurry also here's the Voice Synthesiser. I've already changed the settings to match Shadow's voice pattern Just wear this and whatever you say should sound similar to what Shadow sounds like."

Sonic fastened the device around his neck.

"Similar?" Sonic began to get excited by the sound of his own voice. So deep and gentle in a way.

"The device isn't perfected yet this is the perfect time to test it out so I can improve it. So far so good."

Sonic stuck his thumb in the air and headed back towards his home.
