Moon the Hedgehog : The Origins

"Shadow the Hedgehog, he was once a good person. But he was crowded by the evil that lives in the air. Shadow wasn't born like the rest of us, he was...... Made."

"Made? What do you mean Moon?"

"He was created by a man called Professor Gerald Robotnik to help try and cure his granddaughter. But a terrible accident killed everyone including the Professor."

"Oh." Shard didn't say anything after that.

"Finally"

The girls made it through the forest and were only a few miles away from the village border. It was all desert for miles but Moon knew she could run this. She turned around to pick up Shard who was lying on the floor. There was a section of ice surrounding her.

"Shard?"

Shard lay there surrounded by the ice.

"Shard what's wrong"

Shard slowly and carefully sat up. She shook her head to try and clear her mind. Moon looked down on her with her glowing red eyes. She scratched her head in confusion.

"Maybe it's got something to do with you being in the cold all the time?"

Shard shrugged her shoulders. "Cmon we have no time to waist. If we want that Chaos Emerald then we better hurry up."

Moon picked Shard up and rested her on her shoulder.  "You're right lets go! If we have time to worry then..."

"Run!" Shard finished off Moons sentence. They nodded at each other and then Moon began to run leaving a trail of red energy behind.

The sun seemed to be getting hotter for Shard who was now struggling to stay conscious, the heat was frying her.

"Try to hang on Shard, one of the people we're going to see are a medic. They'll see what's wrong with you so stay alive please" Moon ran faster. She had to get there quick before Shard got sick. "There! The local village. We're getting closer to our destination. Hang on Shard coz we're hitting top speed." Moon ran so fast, Shard couldn't even see where they were going. "We're here!"

Moon put Shard down on the ground. They had arrived at a handmade shack on a beach near the local village. The roof was made of fine straw and it was supported by long pieces of bamboo. There was no door on it so Moon didn't see a reason to knock.

"Anybody home!?" Moon cupped her mouth with her hands to amplify the sound.  There was a bit of silence then a loud shout came from inside the shack.

"Hang on I'll be one second - literally"

In less than a second a blue blur whizzed from inside the small shack. There stood the one and only super fast blue hedgehog.

"Moon the Hedgehog! Good to see you. What brings you to my humble Shack?"

"Sonic the Hedgehog. It's good to see you too! I'm here for a few reasons actually. First of all, can you get my friend Shard to Amy? She's ill."

"Sure. AMY! A patient is waiting for ya outside."

Amy Rose came walking out of the shack with her first aid kit. She wore the same pink dress and boots she always wore.

"What seems to be the problem Sonic?"

Sonic pointed with his big hands to Shard who was now helplessly laying on the ground.  Amy turned her over on the ground to check if she was still awake. "I'll take her inside." She picked Shard up with her bare hands and carried her into Sonics house.

"Anyway" Sonic began "what was the other thing that you wanted?"

"Ah yeah. Last night, me and Shard encountered Shadow."

Sonic gasped, "You mean Shadow the Hedgehog? Black and red edgy Hedgehog with the weird shoes?"

Moon saw the fear in Sonic's eyes just like Shard saw the fear in hers. "Unfortunately, yes it was Shadow the Hedgehog. I was in the forest with Shard investigating a crash site, I saw a Chaos Emerald that I needed because that was the original reason why I was in the forest before I met Shard. We fought - again.......but I lost - again"

Sonic stared at Moon for a moment. "So why are you here?"

"Oh. if anyone has beaten Shadow, it's you Sonic."

Sonic gestured Moon to carry on talking.

"I need your teams help to beat Shadow and get that Chaos Emerald. Who knows? He might have the other 6. That could be the last piece to his evil plan. He could be planning to destroy the world! It's not like he hasn't tried before. He could still be searching for the other -"

The ground began to rumble before Moon could finish her sentence. She looked at Sonic for reassurance that it wasn't shadow.

A tall fat man with a bald head was swooped down inside a flying egg shaped vehicle. He didn't have much hair on his head but he had plenty of moustache. He wore a large red coat, black boots and tiny blue glasses. The man was accompanied by a red robot with a round head, and a yellow robot with a square head.

"Sonic the Hedgehog, I'm going to crush you and your little rodent friends! I've waited long enough for this. ROBOTS ATTACK!"

A swarm of bug like robots flowed out from the trees on to the beach where Moon and Sonic were talking. They surrounded the Shack leaving Moon nowhere to run.

"Moon, you stay inside, me an my team will deal with the crazy man."

Moon shot inside and left Knuckles, Stix, Sonic and Tails to battle this evil man. Sonic told Amy to stay inside with Shard incase anything happened to her.

"Tails, you take care of all the big bots in the sky, Stix and Knuckles, you guys sort out the ones on the ground. I'll take care of Egghead."

Tails jumped in his plane, and took of into the sky to shoot the bots in the sky. They had pretty good lasers themselves so it was going to be a challenge for tails to beat all of them. Down below, Stix the Badger and Knuckles the Echidna were destroying the robots on the ground. Knuckles used his enhanced strength squash each bug one by one.

"I'm gonna crush you into scrap metal." He smiled while punching away incoming robots. Stix threw her boomerang at one of Eggman's robots causing it to explode.

"Now that's how you destroy a robot." Stix gave Knuckles a high five after they finished destroying all of the bugs on the ground.

"Need any help sonic?" Knuckles shouted from across the beach.

"No I can handle Egg Brain all by myself. Besides, you guys won't be able to keep up with my amazing speed." Sonic rushed into Eggman's EggMobile and began to press buttons as fast as he could which was pretty fast. Eggman was too slow to stop him so by the time sonic had disappeared off his machine he had already been redirected back to his evil lair.

"I will get you next time you rotten animals!" He called from a distance. Sonic wiped the dirt of his hands and gave his team a high five. Tails the yellow fox flew down on his plane then used his two tails to propel himself out of his plane and on to the sand.

"You guys did it!"

Sonic, Knuckles, Stix and tails all turned around to see Moon running out of the Shack with a smile on her face. She gave each of them a hug to congratulate them for their victory.

"Anyway who was that guy? Was he one of Shadow's friends?"

"That was Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Calls himself Dr. Eggman. His sidekicks there, were Orbot and Cubot. He's always attacking us and the local village." Sonic paused for a second then continued to speak. "We've beat him every time."

Moon was impressed, Sonic had beaten this guy forever he was bound to be able to help her beat Shadow of at least teach her his tricks.

"Tails. I might have figured out what's wrong with Shard but I need you to run some tests" Amy came running outside and waved for tails.

"I'll take her to my workshop!"
