- Nagisa's POV -
Almost in no time, school was over and I agreed to walk home with Karma.
"Nagisa!" Kayano called me out as she ran inside the classroom, a bag already slung over my shoulder. "D-Do you wanna walk home together?"
I didn't wanna say it but I did. "Sorry. I'm walking home with Karma today. Pretty sure I can walk with you tomorrow though."
"Today's a Friday..." She frowned.
She's never sad, ever. "Did you wanted to show me something? I'm sure Karma would understand if I cancelled for today."
Her face brightened up like I just bought her a pony for her birthday. "R-Really? You mean i-?"
"Yo short stuff," an arm slumped over my shoulder. "Ready to go?"
Oh god.
"K-Karma? Can we go walk together some other time?" We barely even hang out and now I was ditching our plans.
He pouted childishly but obliged. "Alright alright. I can give you it some other time anyway. If it doesn't spoil."
"It?" Kayano pointed a finger at her own cheek. "Like a present?"
"Exactly. Nice job Kayano," his eyes glared at me as he turned his head around. "I'll see you Monday then, Nagisa."
If it would spoil, then he must have made it himself. "Wait!" I grabbed his forearm before he moved away too much. "I-uh, I'd feel terrible if you made something and I wouldn't take it. I guess I'll-" I hesitated, "I'll go with you, I guess."
"That's nice of you!" He smiled, but then he leaned close to my ear, a smirk dancing on his lips. "Nice choice my dearest."
I nervously laughed, pulling my head away. "S-Sorry Kayano."
"No worries. I'll be off now, see ya'!" She waved us goodbye before rushing out.
Once she was gone, I slapped his arm, a crimson blush on my face. "What was that for?!"
"Ow geez! Stop being so abusive!"
I rubbed my ear, feeling a bit of saliva on it. "Gross."
"Aw c'mon. We're lovers ain't we?" He stated walking out of the classroom as I followed.
"Noooo, not in your wildest dreams Akabane."
We soon made it out, our eyes meeting each others instead of the beautiful sunset ahead. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I felt a bead of sweat leave my head, traveling down my back.
He scratched the back of his head, breaking our eye contact. "You look a bit taller today."
"Don't get my hopes up please?" I playfully punched him. "So, you said you had something?" Instead of answering like a normal person, he started walking again. Me, being the midget I am, struggled to keep up the pace.
"Fuuuck, I'm actually gonna do this," he giggled. That's, a little suspicious. Is he gonna pull out a sword or something?
He flipped over his bag and unzipped it incredibly fast for a human. Oh wait, he's the devil, nevermind. Karma then pulled out a folded piece of notebook paper, looking at it for a moment before handing it to me.
I pushed his hand away. "Dude, we're humans! Just talk to me instead of handing me a note like you're confessing your profound love for me."
He smiled, taking away his hand and playing with the piece of paper while looking down at me. "Well, you never know. It's kinda important."
