" Some say if you follow the fireflies' trails, you'll find your destiny, and you'll be bounded by fate " - Fireflies

It was one hot summer afternoon when Cassidy Rose, a university graduate , observed an old vintage property from afar. It looked rather nostalgic. She then took her suitcase from the back of the cab and throw herself on a lovely vintage rosemary - colored sofa inside the property. She observed her surroundings. This is it, she thought. Where else could she sense a very familiar feel, wrapped around the scent of rosemary tea besides her grandfather's lovely summer cottage, which is now hers as written in his will. The cottage isn't the only thing that Cassidy's grandfather had left her. It is also written in his will that she will receive his favourite cactus plants, a backyard, a garage and some money. Not much, but it's enough for her to survive in this unpredictable suburb.

"I remembered spilling a whole cup of tea on the carpet. Maybe gramps never did restore this place" she thought. Just the week before today, Cassidy was arranging plans about her life after university ended. She thought of looking for a job at the big urban city, New York. She would become an entrepreneur like her dear daddy in heaven wanted her to, or probably she would do a part time job at a cafe where she could get all the money she needed to open a boutique like her late mum had always dreamt of. She had hunted jobs from newspapers and ads and a bunch of other resources, before she got a call from someone saying her grandfather passed away. And what's more, she had to collect the things written inside his will before someone else take it. She couldn't loose her grandfather's cottage. It meant a lot to her. Her childhood, her memories - everything. Cassidy didn't have enough time to make a choice. It was set. She would have to move out to her grandfather's summer cottage.

"Do you believe in fairytales, Cassey?"

"I'm not sure ,gramps. My classmates told me they're fake"

"It's not fake if you believe in them. Let me tell you something. Some people say that if you follow the path full of fireflies, they will lead you to your fate, your destiny"

A scene from the past came across Cassidy's mind, interrupting her sleep. She never really thought about it, but ever since her parents died, her grandfather had always taken care of her. She loved him more than anyone else, altough she never told her grandfather about her feelings. She would always feel lonely when her grandfather went out to the field. He would always come back for supper, but now he's gone for good. Tears started falling down Cassidy's green colored-eyes, then to her cheek and to her chin. She cried so much, letting a huge burden out of her heart. She didn't cry on his funeral, and that was a bother. That wasn't because she didn't want to cry, it's just that she once made a promise to his grandfather not to.

The rest of the night felt like ages. She wished for her life to change back to the way it was, ordinary and simple. She thought she had it all. Now all she ever had was gone. She kept thinking about those things over and over, but thingking about it wasn't gonna change a thing. All she had to do now is to accept reality and move on.

Cassidy woke up the next morning feeling blue. There was nothing she could do, so she decided to went out for a walk. She jogged through a small pathway across the forest on her trainers which she would wear everyday, everywhere. But something didn't feel right. She felt as if she was being observed or followed. She looked back and saw nothing, and she jogged faster and faster, almost running. After a while, she stopped to catch her breath and starred at the sky. It was dark. The ray of sunshine she saw a while ago was gone. " Where'd it go?It was there a moment ago" she thought.

She snapped out of her confusion, but it was to late. " Where am I?". There was no time to stop and think. She had to find a way back to the cottage somehow. She started searching for paths when a gleam of little sparks glow through a little pathway, almost like they are showing Cassidy the way back. She chosed to go that way instead of spending a night alone in the woods. "No thanks" she thought to herself.

Foliages and moss covered some parts of the pathway. It made the pathway more enchanted, as if it comes out of a fairytale. Along the pathway, lavenders and daisies grew wild. It was a beautiful scene.

At the other end of the pathway was a bright setted barn. Candles were everywhere. The place smelled like vanilla. She was looking around when a figure came from behind the barn.

" This is no time for a damsel to be outside "

It was a man- aged probably 25. He was wearing a red checked shirt and blue jeans. Typical outskirts style. He was...hot. He had dimples and a charming smile that says : I don't mind a company for the night.
