There's something fishy going on under my nose and I can smell it. It's been bothering me since the day those fireflies showed up. The day I came back here... The day I met Josh.

" Aren't you gonna eat it?" Josh asked with concern on his eyes, his index finger pointing at my melting sundae. I snapped out of my thoughts to see him grinning.

" Hey, Josh", the diner's waitress, Trixie, winked at Josh while serving us a plateful of heart-shaped pancakes with a generous portion of classic maple syrup.

" It's on the house", she said as she walks away, smiling.

He smiled back, " Thanks, Trix"

" Am I lucky to have you here with me. It's not everyday I get heart shaped pancakes for free". I really enjoy teasing Josh, it reliefs stress.

"You should give me a promotion then, Boss", he chuckled.

"Only after you answer my questions"

"Whoa, what's with the interrogation thing popping out of nowhere?", he raised one eyebrow, smiling. " Can we at least finish this pancake before we start?"

"Sure, take your time, I'm not going anywhere ", I said leaning to the windowglass beside our seats. I'm really not going to go anyway, it's pouring really hard outside.

I took two bites and passed the rest to Josh. I don't really like pancakes, unlike Mr. Sweet-toothed infront of me who absorbs all the sugar from the desserts to his soul. No wonder he's so sweet.

"Ask me anything, Detective" he smirked devilishly, if that's even a word.

"Alright, Devil" I replied " Who are you?"

He raised an eyebrow. I raised my eyebrow back at him. He sighed.

"Too much CSI is bad for you. Look what it's done to your brain. Now you even think I'm a spy? What the hell Cass?"

"It's not the CSI 'Josh'. It's you" I took out an ID card I found on the pavement after Lady Bucks left. There's Josh's picture on it. "Or should I call you Blake, Mr. Timberlain?"

Josh stayed silent. This is it, the 'big reveal'. However suddenly a smile grew wide on his face.

" Great" his smile turned into a huge grin " Boss, meet my ex twin brother Blake"

What?

" Yeah. Didn't I tell you that my name is Josh Timberlain?" He smiled mischiveously this time. " Thought I lost it. Thanks boss, I'll take it back"

" Proof it. Show me yours. Now"

" Woah, easy boss. There. Proven and Perfectly Josh Timberlain" he took out another ID card from his pocket.

Exact same features, one light blonde, the other one strawberry blonde. There's something off about Blake. He looked like the total opposite of Mr. Sunshine. His eyes are somehow... dark.

" Accepted" I backed off, relieved. I was just overreacting, wasn't I?
" You wanna tell me about this twin brother of yours?"

" Inviting, but guess I'll skip this talk. I'm not fond of him at all"

When the rain is over, Josh left a $10 bill on the table and we take our leave. There were puddles of rainwater everywhere on the soggy ground it felt like walking through a military ground.

" Do you think I have what it takes to be a detective?"

" Honey, you have whatever it takes to even be the Queen of England" Josh said, laughing. I've never heard him laugh that freely before. " What's with the random questions, Cass?"

" I'm looking for a job"

" I kind of figured you were. Here, take it". He handed me a gold pocketwatch. " If you're going to be a cop, you'll have to bring this pocketwatch as a protection charm"

I examined the pocketwatch. It looked antique" Should I trade my cactus for this?" I asked looking slightly dumb.

Once again Josh burst out of laughter and made fun of me all the way home. By the end of the day, I realized being a cop isn't my thing. Josh still let me keep the pocketwatch though.
