Ah yes, a very BIG band. Definitely the most intentionally famous hard rock band Australia ever produced is AC/DC.

AC/DC sprung from the Easybeats. (Yes those weird 60s dudes in the previous chapter) Angus and Malcolm Young were in fact George's brothers.  George and Harry would then produce and manage the band. (George and Harry had a huge impact on the Australia music scene, they wrote and produced so many songs.)

Although a lot of people like 'em a lot of people don't because of their similar songs. "They made all this albums that sound the same." Whether you like them or not you cannot ignore their success and influence. Especially on the Australian music scene!

In the 1970s Australia's rock bands become famous for the classic hard rocking genre. By the 1980s the Australia music scene had developed and become very unique. The 70s were the pioneering years for OZ rock and the 80s was when the flower finally bloomed and flourished. The 70s also popularised pub rock in Australia. The pub rock style was our Australian ''thing''It was blues oriented no fooling around rock and roll mixed with a bit of progressive rock.

If you couldn't perform live you were shit. That was general the deal in Australia's live scene (the rest of the world too but most Australian's wouldn't hesitate to tell you to get f***ked) Aussie acts of the time were used to interacting with the crowd because of the pub atmosphere. The OZ live music scene was big in Australia, but live bands of the time are very unlikely to be known to the rest of the world unless you know someone who saw them or the band become popular to the American college students scene. This doesn't make their influence non-existent though. Such acts music was passed through the "music underground."

Back to AC/DC. AC/DC was formed in 1973 and from playing in the pubs in Sydney they have sold millions and millions of albums. Although their lead singer Bon Scott died in 1980 they have continued to produce music. Brian Johnson become the new singer for the Black in Back and the rest is history.

AC/DC brought confidence to other Aussie bands proving they could make an impact on the music scene which was usually dominated by the US and UK.

And here is an infamous moment, I'd like to share.
"How do you spell AC/DC?" Which was live on Triple M radio back in 2000. This was legit.
