Time flew by quickly and soon it was time for Dahlia to give birth.
Ace rushed Dahlia to the hospital, the nurses wheeled Dahlia in on the gurney and Ace went off to be prepped for the delivery suite.
The contractions were so intense for Dahlia, every time one came Dahlia would grip Ace's hand tightly.
Ace's heart went out to Dahlia, he hated to see her in such pain.
"I hate to see you in such pain"
Dahlia replied "It's .....alright.....I'll bear it"
The doctor arrived.
"Okay Dahlia when the next contraction comes I want you to give me a big push"
Dahlia breathed and pushed.
"Okay, okay relax"
"You are doing great Dahlia" Ace replied as he wiped the sweat from her brow.
The doctor replied "I want you to give me the final push"
Dahlia gathered all her strength and with one final push, the baby came out, there was a faint wail.
"It's a boy" the doctor replied.
Ace kissed Dahlia "we have a son Dahlia"
The nurses cleaned the baby and gave him to Ace who brought him over to her "He's so handsome"
"I know, Dahlia we've been through so much and inspite of it all we have made it, now we have a son together and I feel it only right if we make it official"
The nurses and doctor looked on in shock when Ace got down on his knees and replied " Dahlia you are my heart will you marry me?"
Dahlia smiled "Yes, a thousand times I will"
Ace slipped the ring on her finger the doctor and nurses replied "That is so sweet"
Ace sealed the engagement with a kiss.
After a while the doctor requested that Ace leave so they could sort Dahlia out.
"I'll see you soon babe" Ace replied and left.
