Ariana's pov

"Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

Have you ever had the feeling
That you was being had
Don't that shit that make you mad
They treat you like a slave,
With chains all on your soul,
And put whips up on your back,
They be lying through they teeth
Hope you slip up off your path
I don't switch up I just laugh
Put my kicks up on they desk
Unaffected by they threats
Than get busy on they ass
See that's how that Chi-Town made me
That's how my daddy raised me
That glittering may not be gold,
Don't let nobody play me
If you are my homeboy,
You never have to pay me
Go on and put your hands up,
When times are hard you stand up
L-U-P the man, 'cause a brand that the fans trust
So even if they ban us
They'll never slow my plans up!

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

One in the air for the people that ain't here
Two in the air for the father that's there
Three in the air for the kids in the ghetto
Four for the kids who don't wanna be there
None for the niggas trying to hold them back
Five in the air for the teacher not scared
to tell those kids that's living in the ghetto
That the niggas holdin' back that the world is theirs!
Yeah yeah, the world is yours,
I was once that little boy
Terrified of the world
Now I'm on a world tour
I will give up everything,
Even start a world war
For these ghettos girls and boys I'm rapping round' the world for!
Africa to New York,
Haiti then I detour,
Oakland out to Auckland
Gaza Strip to Detroit,
Say hip-hop only destroy
Tell em' look at me, boy!
I hope your son don't have a gun and never be a D-boy

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

So no matter what you been through
No matter what you into
No matter what you see
when you look outside your window
Brown grass or green grass
Picket fence or barbed wire
Never ever put them down
You just lift your arms higher
Raise 'em 'til your arms tired
Let em' know you're there
That you struggling and survivin'
That you gonna persevere yeah,
Ain't no body leavin',
No body goin' home
Even if they turn the lights out the show is goin' on!

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder,
When they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!"

"Yay!" we hugged each other, Lupe just finished recording the song after hours of working. "Ariana.." Jon interupted us, "what?" "come here" he demanded, I walked up to him.

I closed the door behind me as I waited for him to speak. "You got someone on the phone" "I'm busy right now.. who is it?" "Prince" my face faded to an emotionless expression, "I'm not there.." I started walking away until he grabbed my arm, "please" he mouthed. I sighed and took the phone.

"Hello?" I felt a wave of stress hit me. "Who's the guy you're working with?" his voice sounded mad but he tried to hide it, "whoa, what you're talking about?" "your bodyguard told me that you were in your studio since hours with him, so who's it?" he raised his voice a bit. "He only wanted me to help him start a career so that's what I'm doing, what did you expect??" I said copying his tone.

There was a silent pause on the other line till I heard "I don't believe that" he rudely said, "then don't believe it"

"You're having an attitude with me??" he raised his voice once again, "well, guess who's not helping?" I replied back. I hated fighting with him, but sometimes he was too much.

"I'm sorry" he said which only caused me to roll my eyes. "Baby?.." he tried to get me to pay attention, "no.. don't say that.." I held back the tears. "I miss you..." his voice was so calm now, "you don't call me anymore and it's driving me insane, please talk to me" he sniffled,

"I'll be back next month" he affirmed, "I love you.." I heard him say before the line went off. I put the phone down and when I returned back to my studio, Lupe wasn't there anymore. I guess I've been on the phone longer than I thought.

I was overwhelmed with my thoughts that night, and since I couldn't sleep, I decided to play one of my pieces;

"Here I come, come to you in the very clothes
That I killed, killed you in and now I know I'm alone
I walk to you, rain falls from you
Can you wash me, can you drown me?

I wanna be a lot of things, so much pent up inside of me
I wanna be stronger, too long I've sat here undecidedly
Planning strategy, half of me knows it's all just a fallacy
Failing miserably, drastically and then I crash dramatically
Into a wall I've hit a hundred times before
And yet I still ignore the dark red blood stains on the floor
And I'm back in front of you, Lord, with the blood on the floor
Is the blood mine or yours? Don't wanna do this anymore

Back and forth between being me and who you call me to be
You see a man free who thinks he has to buy a key
To a door but he can't 'cause he's poor and he can't
Fall down anymore 'cause he's already on the floor
And his heart is broken and all and this is his scar
But it's warm from crying 'cause he will try nine times
To realize nine crimes but he has more than nine lives
So he picks himself up and keeps climbing for the prize again

Here I come again to you
Just to show that blood soaked through
Through my bones and all I own
Is there a way for me to grow?
I walk to you, rain falls from you
Can you wash me, can you drown me, please?

Every time I feel selfish ambition is taking my vision
My crime is my sentence, repentance is taking commission
It's taking a toll on my soul, I'm screaming submission and
I don't know if I am dying or living
'Cause I will save a face for name's sake
Abuse grace, take a aim to obtain a new name in a newer place
But my name is lame, I can't walk and I ain't the same
And my name became a new destiny to the grave and
They say the ocean's blue, but it's black right now
In the dark, on the sand, looking out at my crowd
Depression and drowning singing now the full parts
Of lightning reveals where the ocean stops and the sky starts
I've been told by the sky that the ocean I shall win
But it's hard for me to see where ocean stops and sky begins
A random strikes of light remind me of what is true
But right now the ocean's blacker than black, the sky is too"
