This is not really a Peter Pan one-shot, more of a (Y/N) one-shot. Tootles up above.
I never felt so much panic and anger at the same time as I did the moment I saw the Evil Queen about to rip Tootles heart from his chest. That kid was like my own son; I would do anything to protect him. All reasoning left the window as I pull the string of my bow tighter than I ever thought possible, "let him go!"
The Evil Queen paused, as did her two companions- The Savior and Snow White. Tootles was already crying before I showed up, but now he was bawling. "M-mamma!" He cried and began struggling against the Evil Queens grip. All three women's eyes widen at the young child's words.
"Mamma?" Snow White questions in a whisper.
"Let. Him. Go." I repeat slower, almost growling the words, "or I will make sure you never see Henry again."
The Savior stepped forward, the tip of my arrow followed the movement, but my gaze stayed on Tootles. "You're his mother?" No, I wasn't his mother.
But I might as well been.
"Mommy! Mommy, please!" No matter how hard I tried to keep the tears back, Tootles cries pushed them forward.
The Savior's eyes follow the escaped tear down my cheek and I see Snow White cover half her face with her hands. "Please," my voice became soft and pleading, "I'll do anything, just don't hurt him."
"Lower the bow and throw it aside."
I did as the Evil Queen demanded, even throwing my quiver full of arrows aside with it, and my hunting knife. I was fully weaponless, but I didn't care, as long as Tootles was safe.
The Savior glanced at the Evil Queen. "She did what you asked- plus some. Let the kid go."
"Tie her up first." The Evil Queen sneered.
"Regina-" Snow stared.
"Tie her up." She repeated.
Snow sighed but came towards me with some rope and gestured to my hands. I silently shoved my wrist in her direction, still having not look away from Tootles and the Evil Queen. Once Snow was done, she led me to a tree and gently sat me down.
"There. Now let him go." The Savior said.
The Evil Queen- or Regina- hesitated, but eventually let go of the crying Tootles. As soon as her hands left him, the small four year old launched himself at me. I was angry I couldn't hug him back, so I settled with burying my head in his tiny shoulder. "It's okay, it's okay darling. You're safe." I kept repeating those words over and over, rocking him back and forth as best as I could at the moment.
Tootles finally calmed down enough to where he wasn't crying anymore, now I was just trying to get the poor kid to breathe properly. The three Storybrooke women watch us in silence, Regina easily expressed her annoyance through her body language, crossed arms, cold glare, and an almost snarl pulled on her lips. I'd finally had enough of their staring. "What? You afraid this four-year-old child will murder you all with his sobbing? I thought you were supposed to be heroes and mothers." Tootles breathing finally slowed and he fell asleep against my chest, not surprisingly considering all he just went through.
The Savior looked at me sadly. "Yes, I am a mother. So must know why I have to get Henry back." Her eyes drifted to the little blond snuggled up against me. "The way you felt with..." She drifts off, waiting for me to give her Tootles name.
I simply stare at her. None of them deserved the right to Tootles name.
"...Your...son...is the exact way we feel with Henry. We just want him back safe in our arms."
I let out a sarcastic laugh, "Oh don't give me that shit, Savior, you can't persuade me with words. Sweetheart, I've been alive a lot longer than any of you, I invented the game you're trying to sell me. My loyalties lie with Pan, they always have, always will." I smirk, and slip my hands of the poorly tied knot. "Get ready for a game changer, because you messed with the wrong Lost Girl and, not only did you almost kill one of our Lost Boy's, you broke Pan's rules."
"And we all know cheaters never win."
Three women look wide eyed at the owner of the new voice. Peter sauntered up beside me, a dangerous look in his eyes. He gently grabs Tootles from me and places his free hand on my waist. "Let the game begin."
With that Peter teleports us back to camp.
