Kagome's Rise

In the South of feudal Japan dwell the higurashi kingdom. It was the most peaceful and joyful kingdom. King Ryu and his second wife Ria had finally been able to get the child they always wanted. Yes that's right his second wife before her he was married to Sakura, a daughter of a lower Lord. They had a daughter together but after he laid eyes on Ria they parted with Ryu having custody of their daughter kikyo. Kikyo didn't mind though because Ria treated kikyo as her very own. Ryu and Ria first and only child was kagome. Kikyo was two years older than kagome.

Everything was great in the higurashi kingdom until kagome's seventh birthday.

"Mommy! Mommy! Can I get my gift now?" Asked little kagome

"Not now sweetheart, but you can get the ones the lords got you" replied Ria

"But I want it now" pouted kagome

"Kagome listen to your mother. You will get your gift later" said Ryu harshly

"No it's okay Ryu, I'll go get her gift" said Ria with a smile

"You sure?" Questioned Ryu
"Yes my love"

"Yaaay!!!" Exclaimed little kagome.

Half an hour pass and Ria didn't return.
"Papa where's Mommy?" Asked kagome

"I'll go check. Kai watch over kagome for me, I'll be right back"
"Yes milord"

As Ryu opened his room door he was greeted by a sight that he would never forget... There on the floor surrounded by a pool of blood, was Ria. Her neck was slice and her body was covered with stab wounds. Lying next to her was a pillow that was probably used to silence her. Her eyes were wide open and dried tear marks were on her cheeks.

Ryu fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face, praying that this was just a nightmare but alas his friend Toga came up and hugged him giving him his sympathy bringing him to reality..... Ria was no more....

For two months Ryu locked himself in his room leaving his advisor Matsumaru to run the kingdom. That was until his first wife Sakura returned. Sakura comfort him and brought him out of his grief and self loathing. A year after Sakura returned Ryu and her got remarried. And in that time Sakura made Ryu hate kagome and blamed her for Ria's death because she couldn't wait for her present. Sakura also made kikyo hate kagome. Kagome was always treated like a slave while kikyo was spoiled.

One day while walking in her mother's garden kagome decided that she will earn back her father's love.

"That's it!" Exclaimed kagome
" I'll ask the generals to train me and become the best warrior in the kingdom" with that in mind kagome ran to the army base and asked the eight generals to train her.
The generals agreed of course because the love kagome and was sorry for what was happening to her. They agreed to train her secretly. And so she began training at the age of nine.
And although Ryu hated her he didn't want her to disgrace him so he allowed her to take educational and etiquette classes but she was not allowed to take leisure and fun classes.

On Sundays when she was free of classes she would go to the villages in the kingdom and help out the villagers. Everyone in the kingdom loved kagome but hated Sakura although they didn't know the way she treated kagome.

By the time she was twelve kagome was a master with the swords, daggers, katana, arrow and bow, spears and staffs. She was also excellent at hand to hand combat, being able to defeat two generals together with it. With her weapons she was able to defeat six generals at once (and they were demons while she was a human). She was a great strategist and swordsmith. And yet after 3 years of training her father still did not notice. Neither did Sakura nor kikyo since they were both busy corrupting the kingdom.
Now that she was prepared to show her father she was a great warrior she was going to talk to him.
She tried to talk to him but he was always ignoring her being that he is too busy spoiling kikyo.

Two months before her 13th birthday, her parents anniversary, she found her father alone at her mother's grave.
"Ryu-sama"said kagome
"...." No response
"Ryu-sama" she said once again

"...." Still no response

So kagome walked Infront of him and said " Ryu-sama I need to talk to you"

"What child? What is so important that you need to interrupt my time at your mother's grave? Did you forget that you were the one who put her there?" Replied Ryu

"Well if you listened to me before then I won't have interrupt your time with mother. I wanted to tell you that I have been training and I would like to join the army" said kagome

"Ha! If you want to die so badly I have no objection. Tomorrow I will test you and if you pass then you will join the army but if you fail you will be banished"

" I will not fail, I will be the best warrior you can have" replied kagome.

"Bahaha maybe you should consider being a comedian" said Ryu and with that kagome left.
