Timeskip- 3 years

A brown eyed brunette walked in the garden of the castle looking for the army's general, instead she was greeted by blurs. She looked closely and saw a duel going on between a beauty with straight, midnight blue hair that ended in curls and a demon with fiery red hair and matching eyes.
The beauty's sapphire eyes shone with joy and enjoyment as she exchanged clashes with the demon. The brunette watched for a while then realized why she was there. Sighing sadly the brunette interrupted the amazing duel before her.

"Um my lady" said the brunette

Clash! Clash! Clash! Was the only response she got.

"My lady" she tried a little louder

Clash! Clash! Clash! More clashes was her response.

"KAGOME!!!" The brunette yelled getting annoyed.

The beauty with sapphire eyes turn to the brunette
"Oh hey Sango" she said

"Didn't you hear me calling?" Asked the brunette now identified as Sango.

"Yes I did" replied kagome.

"Then why in the name of the south didn't you answer me??" Asked Sango annoyed.

"Hmm you were calling for me? I thought you were calling for 'my lady', last time I checked I told you to call me kagome." Said kagome with a smirk.

"Kagome.... For a sixteen year old you really are childish" replied Sango whining.

"Haha haha I know" she said smiling happily.

"Oh right!" Sango said remembering once again why she was there.
" The Lord would like to see you immediately my lady"

"I told you not to call me that" replied kagome whining.
"What for?" She then questioned

"I do not know but he is requesting to see you, myself and Akiko" replied Sango

"The Lord is requesting to see the three of us therefore it must be important" said the demon, now identified as Akiko, finally saying something since Sango arrived.

With that they made their way to the throne room where the Lord is awaiting their arrival.

As they reach the throne room kagome entered with Sango and Akiko trailing behind. When she was directly infront of the Lord she goes down on one knee, placed her hand across her chest and bowed with Sango and Akiko following suite.

"You called Ryu-sama?" Kagome answered the Lord.

"Yes I did. As you all may know Kikyo's eighteenth birthday will be in a month's time and the kingdom will be holding a ball to celebrate her coming of age. At this ball will be the lords of all the lands, their sons, their servants and guards. Lower lords will also be coming. Security must be tight for on these occasions an ambush of some sort may take place. Kagome you are responsible for the security of the kingdom and the royal family especially Kikyo. If anything may happen to my dear daughter I will have your head. Understood?"

"Yes my lord" answered kagome

"Moving on...the kingdom must be on top appearance, the services and everything must be the best. You are to ensure that the servants know this." Commanded lord Ryu

"Yes my lord" answered kagome.

"Dismissed" said Ryu-sama.

As they were about to leave the voice of Sakura stopped them.

"Oh and kagome if you even think of thieving the spotlight from my darling Kikyo you will be banished. Okay?"

"I won't do-" kagome started but was cutted off by Kikyo.

"Of course you would. You crave for attention. You are an attention wanting whore. That's why you joined the army right? To get all the men to yourself? Hmph pathetic" said Kikyo smirking wickedly.

"Yes that's right my daughter. That was her aim." Agreed Sakura

Kagome wanted to leave so badly but it would be rude to walk out when the lady of the land is speaking to you and so kagome had to stay and here these harsh lies. As if knowing her pain Akiko spoke "Sakura-sama please excuse the general. She has tasks that she needs to fulfill" Akiko put emphasis on the word general to make sure Sakura know that kagome was more skilled and stronger than her but Sakura was oblivious.

"Oh that's right she is just a servant afterall." Said Sakura making sure to put emphasis on the word servant just to make kagome feel bad.

"Thank you for excusing me Sakura-sama" kagome said having a hard time calling the witch sama.

Upon leaving the throne room and reaching the garden Sango let out the anger she was holding in when Sakura insulted kagome.

"Ugh! The nerve of that woman. How dare they disrespect you kagome? I mean you're the general of the southern army for goodness sakes. Don't they know their place? Sakura is just a whore with a title. Why did you take that so easily?"

"I can't disrespect the lady of the land." Answered kagome

"But you are a princess. You're more of a princess than Kikyo." Said Sango

"No no I'm not, I'm just a general." And with that kagome left the garden.

" I can't believe them. She have it so hard." Said Sango to Akiko

"I know. She tries so hard and even though she is the general of the entire southern army she still doesn't have the respect of her father nor Sakura." Said Akiko.

Ok so let's recap. Over the past three years kagome became the general of the southern army while Sango and Akiko became normal generals. After kagome became the general the army strength rose ten folds and was now one of the strongest army in the land. However even though she was the general no one outside of the servants and army of the castle knew this. Everyone just thought she was a normal kind hearted princess.

After kagome left the garden she went to her mother's grave and fell to her knees crying.

"Oh mom if only you were here. It's my fault that's you're not here. If only I was patient. Oh mom I'm sorry. I miss you." Cried kagome

"My child it's not your fault. I told you that before didn't I?" Replied a voice

"Mom is that you?" Questioned a shock kagome

"Yes it is" answered Ria

"But how?" Asked kagome

"You see I'm not supposed to be here but I sensed your distress and beg the kami to come comfort you, just like I did when you were younger and blaming yourself for my death." Said Ria

"So that wasn't a dream?"

"No it was not a dream. My time is running out my child. I may never see you again. I love you kagome and take care of yourself and the kingdom. Bye" and with that Ria disappeared.

When Ria was gone kagome continued to cry and that's how Akiko found her. Seeing her crying Akiko rushed over and held her in his arms.

"It's okay kagome. It's okay" he said rubbing her back.

When the sobs died down Akiko said "let's go eat okay gome?"

*Snore* was the response he got.

Looking down he saw her asleep in his arms. This caused him to smile remembering all the times this had happened. He then carried her bridal style to her room and tuck her in.

" You may not be a princess to them but you are a queen to all in the kingdom. We love you kagome. I love you." He said the last part in a whisper.

"Goodnight kagome" he said kissing her on her forehead before leaving.
