The next day

Kagome woke up at 5am and got ready for her test which will start at 6am. After taking a bath and changing, she grabbed an apple and bit into it then collected her sword and went to the dojo in the courtyard.

Kagome's POV

Today is the big day. I'll join the army and be one step closer to becoming the best warrior and earning back father's love. Ah I miss the days when mom was still around. Hmm maybe things wil-
BAM!!! "Owww" I looked up to see the dojo doors infront of me.
"Stupid door" I muttered as I enter the dojo.
There was father sitting on the Lord's seat with kikyo and the witch seated at his side.

"Today you're going to fight against Akiko, the second in command to general Kai. You are to defeat Akiko. That is your test. If you fail to defeat him you will be banished from the southern kingdom." Said Ryu-sama

No one POV

"Begin!"

Akiko was the first to make a move and that was his mistake. Kagome saw an opening an strike, luckily for Akiko he was fast and was able to block the attack. He then countered with sweeping kagome's feet off the ground but she already anticipated that and jump into the air doing a summersault. This went on for a while until kagome got fed up and end the fight with a final blow to Akiko's ribs. The fifteen minutes fight end with kagome as the victor.

Kagome's POV

I looked up to see father looking at me with surprise and pride in his eyes. Beside him was kikyo and the witch with their eyes bulging out of their sockets. I can clearly say that they are shocked.

"The victor of this battle is kagome. You have defeated Akiko and pass the test. You are hereby pronounced an official member of the southern army and will be subordinate to general Kai, Akiko's superior. Dismissed." Said father

As I was going out the door with Akiko
"STOP!!! Clearly there must be some sort of misunderstanding. She cheated. No way can she be that strong." Yelled the witch

"Sakura the girl won fair and square. You saw it." Replied father who is surprisingly defending me.

"No it can't be. She..s-s-she cheated" stammered Sakura

"Woman pull yourself together. You are the queen of the southern lands, have you forgotten that? Have you no shame?" Said father

"You're right Ryu. Why should that bother me? She'll die in the army anyway." Replied Sakura

After that I followed Akiko to see general Kai. We found him under a tree in the courtyard.

Kikyo's POV

Today is kagome's test, she will have to battle a second in command, she will definitely lose and get banished. Hahaha she will finally be out of my life.
BAM!!!
I turned my head towards the door and saw kagome entering. Hahaha she ran into the door. What a clown.

"Begin!"

I'm scared cause the more the battle goes on, the more I can see kagome winning.

The battle finally ended and kagome won....wait what KAGOME WON!!! I can't believe that wench won.

As I was about to voice that she cheated mother beat me to it.
Father will surely agree with mother and banish her but another shock was that he didn't.
Hmm that bitch will pay for thieving my father away from us even if it was just for a second.

"I didn't think that it would take you that long to defeat Akiko." General Kai said to me

"It didn't, I just didn't want Ryu-sama to see all my power in one day. If he did then it won't take him long to find out you trained me and have your head along with the heads of all the other generals." I responded

" True. Smart thinking princess" replied general Kai.

"So wait wait wait you're saying she is stronger and faster than that? And you trained her? And she is a princess?" Questioned Akiko

"Yes"

"So is she the kind princess you always speak of? The one that Ryu-sama you know..." asked Akiko

"Yes I am the one that Lord Ryu disowned" I said

"I'm sorry"he said

"It's okay. I'm used to this" I responded with a smile.

"You look beautiful when you smile" Akiko said to me

"Thanks and oh I'm sorry if I hurt you" I told him now remembering about the battle

"It's okay I'm a demon so my healing abilities are fast" he responded

"Okay kids save the sugar for later. Kagome i think you should go rest. Tomorrow you're are officially joining the army so you should get some rest." Said general Kai

"You're right. Later Kai, later Akiko" I said going to my chamber to retire for the day.
