The Autumn sun rose, peeking through Kenma's windows, hitting his face and awakening him. He groaned as he reached for his cellphone.
"Another Monday, another math test that i didn't study for." He thought as he hesitantly moped out of bed.
"Four weeks... four weeks till our match with Karasuno...Four weeks... till I see Shoyo." A faint smile appeared on his face, and he giggled as he buttoned up his shirt.
"Oh, whoops, I'm gonna be late for school if I don't get going." Grabbing his bag, he waved goodbye to his mother and started on his way to school.
The cold air brushed across the pudding-headed boy's face giving him chills.
"Hey! Kenma! How are ya' today eh?"
The small boy paused as a tall figure appeared behind him and sighed loudly. "Lev, please don't walk behind me like that, it's creepy."
"Oh! Please excuse me! I'm sorry Ken- I mean... Kozume-san..?"
Kenma rolled his eyes and walked faster. Lev stayed persistent.
"So... um... Do you think that you could set to m-"
"No." Kenma said sternly.
"But, why not?" Lev whined.
Kenma turned to the tall boy and looked up with bored eyes. "Because you're a waste of time, all you do is hit them all out or not at all, and I have to make up homework from when i was sick a few days ago."
Lev frowned in disappointment. "W-well, um... I've been getting better..." he pouted.
"No means no Lev."
Kenma turned away and sighed, leaving Lev in the distance.
"See you at practice, Kozume-san!" Lev yelled, his face lighting up a bit. "Maybe another day right?" He laughed. Kenma ignored and continued walking.
"What a bother."
He arrived at the front gate of his school.
"Just another Monday."
He held his stomach, regretting not eating breakfast.
"I have a few minutes until classes start, and the vending machines are on the way--" He was interrupted by another familiar voice.
"Ho, ho? Kenma??"
"Move Kuro, you're blocking my way." Kenma sighed.
The bed-headed teen sneered.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Hm?" he teased.
"I need to eat and get to class Kuro, move." He said impatiently.
Kenma went on and nudged Kuroo out of the way.
"Is something bothering you, Kenma?" Kuroo asked.
"No, just not feeling well, and I'm hungry so please, move."
Kuroo nodded and laughed. "Remember, practice is cut short because the first years have exams after, at six." He explained.
"Okay, that's actually perfect, I was going to have to leave early anyway" Kenma nodded.
"Now, I've really gotta go, Kuro, so do you. Bye." Kenma rushed away to the vending machines as Kuroo waved him goodbye.
Kenma finally arrived at the vending machine and quickly inserted a few coins in. Out fell a small, fish-shaped pastry wrapped in thin plastic. Kenma picked up the small pastry just as the morning bell rang. He quietly gasped as he dashed out of the vending room and into the hallway, quickly yanking off his shoes with the pastry in his mouth and shoving them into his locker. He speedily slipped on his school slippers and dashed up the stairs and into class just in time.
"Kozume-san. Please take your seat." Kenma nodded quickly. "Also, I never thought i'd have to warn you of this, but no running in the halls." "Yes Sensei, Sorry Sensei." He muttered, out of breath. He took his seat, and the day started.
"Just another Monday"
